12:00 simple set of rules James gave which Paul decided to completely disregard. This probably had a large part to do with everyone in Asia abandoning him, including the seven churches specifically mentioned in the book people call Revelation.

21:45 Will doesn't have time to take a scholarly approach to studying scriptures, he is too busy being a capitalist to waste his time studying scriptures deeply, he just pulls out his magic phone and then grabs a mic and spouts off the first thing he finds on Google.

I rejoice to hear this being preached. Consider Roman's chapter 9. Or all of Roman's for that matter. Consider the law VS. Christ. Or Abraham's 2 wives. And his two sons. And how they both became a great nation...... May we stand in awe, with fear and trembling before our Mighty God and creator Amen.

17:00 Will should not be just allowed to spout off the first thing that pops up when he Google's something as proof of anything. Maybe this research technique works for him but it's not a reliable way to carefully study the text. I have heard the sin of the nicolaitans was eating food sacrificed to idols and other unclean food practices. Bottom line is Paul taught differently than the actual apostles and the letters in Revelation.

Paul was abandoned by all these churches in Asia mentioned in revelation. Maybe it was because he taught them things which are mentioned as sinful in this chapter the brother read are lawful?

The days are surely coming, says the Lord, when I will fulfill the promise I made to the house of Israel and the house of Judah. 15 In those days and at that time I will cause a righteous Branch to spring up for David, and he shall execute justice and righteousness in the land. 16 In those days Judah will be saved, and Jerusalem will live in safety. And this is the name by which it will be called: “The Lord is our righteousness.” 17 For thus says the Lord: David shall never lack a man to sit on the throne of the house of Israel, 18 and the Levitical priests shall never lack a man in my presence to offer burnt offerings, to make grain offerings, and to make sacrifices for all time. 19 The word of the Lord came to Jeremiah: 20 Thus says the Lord: If any of you could break my covenant with the day and my covenant with the night, so that day and night would not come at their appointed time, 21 only then could my covenant with my servant David be broken, so that he would not have a son to reign on his throne, and my covenant with my ministers the Levites. 22 Just as the host of heaven cannot be numbered and the sands of the sea cannot be measured, so I will increase the offspring of my servant David and the Levites who minister to me.

35:45 prophetic reference from Jeremiah explicitly mentions the covenant with the Israelites never being broken as long as there is day and night. There is also no mention of this sprout or branch being planted on a different mountain as a completely different tree. The good news or gospel is not about the "Jews" being replaced by the "christians" but about God's plan for humanity from day one. Jeremiah 23 nor Jeremiah 33 mention another tree on a separate mountain. It explicitly speaks of another branch on the same tree

When I say to the wicked, You shall surely die, and you give him no warning, nor speak to warn the wicked from his wicked way to save his life, that same wicked man shall die in his iniquity but his blood I will require at your hand. Yet if you warn the wicked, and he does not turn from his wickedness nor from his wicked way, he shall die in his iniquity but you have delivered your soul......all we can do is warn with truth then not on us whatever they do.....

I always loved how Gideon destroyed his own dad's idols. He had the guts to call out idolatry and think for himself instead of just following the culture he was born into in their mistakes such as worshipping the "queen of heaven" as the Israelites seemed to commonly do.

It is always interesting to me to engage in Bible study and discussion. You can take it for what it is worth and correct me if I am wrong but we are not too familiar with the culture of the day that proverbs was written, so I don't know what winking the eye meant. I would assume that Solomon would have believed that his readers would know what exactly he is talking about. (I suppose that Solomon would never have guessed that his writings would still be read so many thousands of years later. But my point is that through translation and culture differences, it is sometimes difficult for us to hear it accurately. Another point is, (what I also heard being alluded to in your discussion) that the Proverbs are just that- proverbs. Sayings of wisdom in general but not absolutes. Jesus said that what he has is more than what Solomon has. Love and blessings.

Hi John, Thank you for your thoughts. I definitely think we are a profit-driven society, and that does not always bear good fruit for the people who make up society. It fuels greed, unhealthy lifestyles, and ultimately living that separates us from our King if we don’t strive against it. God help us. God bless you, Max

@@maxhougham5763 I totally agree with you. I was very happy to see how much of the food you folks grow and raise on your own. Consuming as much food as possible that you process and raise on your own and making the most of other people's waste even if it just ends up as animal feed. Your community's thoughtful way of approaching food, clothing, and every aspect of life is a great example. In regard to Atlee's comments, it reminded me of what my mother calls the "Daniel Diet", or what most people call the vegetarian diet. If you have good healthy meat like Atlee does it is a blessing, otherwise many people find it healthier to just avoid meat if it comes from a factory farm. I learned a lot from you folks, and I look forward to seeing you all again, Lord willing someday when I get back out west.

33:50 being careful about what you put in and on your body is important. Will says "most of us were truckers with places to go". Good ol American capitalism goes hand in hand with placing more emphasis on quickly grabbing junk food so people can get back to making more money to prop up the consumerism and capitalism that keeps the money flowing and the war machine rolling.

I've spend 100s of hours studying this very topic biblically, and even though, in many cases, I've come to a different conclusion, I still respect your passion on the subject. The key to understanding this issue is applying "context," and "harmony" (harmony of the Scriptures). We could speak of Ezra (prophet of God), commanding a mass divorce from pagan wives. And of course, the well know Scripture, "God hates divorce" (Mal. 2:16). The Hebrew is difficult here. Literally from Hebrew it says, "if or for he hates divorcing," but it doesn't say who is doing the hating. Sadly, some translations have decided to make the Lord the subject of the verb with no justification in the language to do so. Probably best read, "If he hates and divorces his wife, he covers his garment with injustice." What is the context? Even the Greek Septuagint recognizes that it is the husband, not God, who hates. This doesn't mean that divorce is right in God's eyes, but He has allowed it in some cases due to abuse, adultery, etc. I could bring up many more studies and biblical passages and biblical history, but why? it would only stir up controversy and wouldn't change any minds that have been made up. I used to teach the legalistic, non-redemptive theology of marriage myself, until I did an in-depth study involving 100s of hours looking at every passage in the Bible about the subject. So can I just say that I disagree with some of your conclusions, but at the same time, so appreciate your heart in wanting to get things right. You have a great zeal for God which I admire.

Yes we need to leave the judgment to the Lord, as one that has a family member that was brutally murdered , I understand what that man is going through but i can honestly say I have no hatred or ill will to the men that did such a thing. I would be a murderer myself if I hated them and would be guilty of the same judgment!! But let us not confuse our duty to the world and the church “ know ya not that a little leaven leaveneth the whole lump” , and “For what have I to do to judge them also there are without do not you judge them that are within but them that are without God judges therefore put away from among yourselves that wicked person” Also matt 18, moreover if they brother trespass against the go and tell him his fault between the in him alone if he hear the that has Gano brother if he will not hear the then take with you one or two more that in the mouth of two or three witnesses every word may be established and if he shall neglect to hear them tell it to the church but if you neglect to hear the church and let him be under the as a heathen man and a publican. Also 1tim19, against an elder receive not an accusation but before two or three witnesses them that sin repeat before all the others may also fear I charge the before God in the Lord Jesus Christ in the elect angels that observe these things without preferring one before another do nothing by partiality. We are not to judge the world or those that are without, but we are to judge that within the church. Amen to your thoughts brother

“Here is the sort of fast I want - releasing those unjustly bound, untying the thongs of the yoke, letting the oppressed go free, breaking every yoke, sharing your food with the hungry, taking the homeless poor into your house, clothing the naked when you see them..." Isaiah 58 here tells us to bring the homeless into our house, not just buy them toothbrushes or hand them money or food.

29:30 I would disagree. If you read the Hebrew Bible or as you call it the "old testament", there are many many times where God and prophets talk about God's love, mercy, salvation, and care for everyone in the world whether they are from the tribes of Israel or not. Just do a word study on resident aliens, gentiles, nations, islands, etc. You will find many times in the Hebrew Bible where this is apparent. Just go talk to a ultra Orthodox Rabbi and they will help you find examples and inform you more about the truth on this subject. Loved this message. Very nice to hear Atlee using the extra biblical Israelite scriptures to get some possible ideas about some of the gaps in the stories we find in the 66book canon. Shalom Aleichem. May the Lord be magnified

Thank you for the message. I'm also glad that you brought up the verse about Jesus not knowing people. That may be one of the scariest verses in the Bible. I believe you are correct in saying that the motivation of our works determines our relationship with Christ. Those people may have been doing the right things, but we're doing them for the wrong reason. Maybe they thought that they were saved by works. Maybe they were simply trying to get the praise of men. A friendship and faith in Christ will produce good works not the the other way around.
