I'm in tears because of his and Silvia's bravery. I haven't been online for some time dealing with my own daughter's additional issues to her allergies now finally diagnosed autistic at age 12, and I feel sorry for that because I didn't know of sweet Nicky's passing on, yet my daughter and I talked about him often especially when we see our bandages etc. I will always remember his bravery forever. He's an absolute angel to us, a true inspiration in our darkest moments. 💜

What's the difference from recessive distophic and the others types?
@PrincessSilvia
@PrincessSilvia 3 жыл бұрын
There are several different forms of EB, and the difference lies in how "deep" the wound gets after it blisters. The deeper the wound, the more complications and the more difficulties in healing. Here's a website with a full explanation of the different forms of EB: epidermolysisbullosanews.com/types-of-epidermolysis-bullosa/
@PrincessSilvia
@PrincessSilvia 3 жыл бұрын
Our skin has two layers, the epidermis above, and the dermis below. In essence, Recessive Dystrophic's wounds are deeper than the other forms. They go down to the dermis. Simplex's blisters stay within the epidermis and Junctional's blisters basically take off the entire epidermis.
@sag6211
@sag6211 3 жыл бұрын
@@PrincessSilvia I thought / believed that the recessive was due to a sort of stability of the disease with a decelerating course. recessive in fact
@PrincessSilvia
@PrincessSilvia 3 жыл бұрын
@@sag6211 the "Recessive" in the name means that the gene that causes the condition is automatically recessive. EB is a genetic condition, there is a mutation in the genes. Both parents need to be "carriers", which means have a mutated gene for the condition in their DNA (we all have 2 copies of the same gene-one we got from dad, and one from mom, one becomes dominant and the other one is recessive, when conceiving a child, either one could be passed down to the next generation) and then if the subsequent child inherits only both recessive mutated genes for the condition, he will have it. That's why it's so rare. There are only about 120 people in the entire US that have exactly what Nicky has...

If Only Everyone Knew The Truth gotkern22 September 2023 Susan Tom is not the saint that is portrayed. She took full advantage of Margaret's mental health issues, when all Margaret begged for was her love and acceptance. To this very day Margaret still feels she owes Susan her life. Susan has never told Margaret to take a break, go enjoy your own beautiful family, etc. I hate to inform you all that every single one of those girls are no longer in the house that was built for them. Just Margaret and Susan. They were bullied, mentally, and some physically abused. All of their cries for help went unanswered. They were either forced out, or made so uncomfortable that they ended up leaving on terrible terms. Susan is a very controlling, manipulative person. Unfortunately Margaret looked up to her so much that she is the same way, maybe even worse 😔 I really wish those girls were adopted by someone capable of giving them more than what they came with(A Check). Margaret has nobody now because she has ran everyone that cared about her out of her life including me. I didn't watch this documentary when it first came out do to motion sickness. After noticing things about Margaret that caused some concern, I decided to try and watch it. I cried the entire time. It was like I was watching someone that I love getting taken full advantage of and crying out for help and nobody was doing anything about it. If you guys knew what those girls and boys actually went through, it would truly crush your hearts. There are so many things that were covered up. Including what really happened to Anthony the night before he passed. I will end this by saying if there was ever a family that needed a follow up on how they are doing now, this is the family. You could sit all the girls in separate rooms and they would tell you the same heartbreaking truth about how they were really "Treated". I wish I would've known sooner what was really going on. I feel kinda responsible for not stepping in sooner😔 Please check on this family. This film is literally evidence of what Margaret went through and is currently going through. Hope everyone has a blessed day.

@@Shannonbarnesdr1 I'm glad you shared. Things aren't always what they seem, especially when the doors are closed, and sometimes what starts off as something good and well intentioned gets out of hand. You seem sincere and although I don't know you, I don't know the Tom family personally either. I pray that God will help them all heal. One can tell by watching the documentary that there are some danger signs along with the good that is shown. I didn't mean to paint Susan as a saint in my comment. She is human and other than that I can't speak because I don't know her. But there were some unspoken ways that she treated Margaret in the documentary that didn't sit well with me. I'm going to leave my comment because if I delete it, yours will also be deleted and I think yours should be seen. And while the documentary "My Flesh and Blood" may not have been accurate, I hope that if some watch it objectively they might open their hearts to a child who has a disability. While understanding that it's not going to be easy (nothing important is) but every child deserves love and a home. God Bless you and take care ❤
