Thanks for the guide. Changed the connector and the two cables, didnt work on first try, so I removed the fuses and connected it again amd it worked

Hello from four years later. Used prices for either camera are currently about the same. One advantage that I find with the R model is in using Clear Image Zoom (JPG-only mode). The resolution is high enough to avoid most of the artifacting and loss of detail to be expected when used on a camera of lower resolution.
