It's great to see a river returned to a more natural state. However, there is not a lot of point if you are simply increasing the food supply to otters. They decimate fish stocks and eat other creatures and are not the loveable, cuddly creatures shown on television. Ask fishery owners and anglings groups.

Incredible work being undertaken to restore migratory fish species to the Upper Trent, Derbyshire Derwent, Staffordshire Dove and associated tributaries 👏🏻👏🏻 PLEASE can you provide info/update on fish passage upstream of Darley Abbey toward Belper and possibly beyond towards Matlock/Rowlsey ? There are two massive barriers at Milford and Belper (East Mill) that if bypassed would open up the upper Derwent into the Peak District and would certainly provide a boost not only to wildlife but also additional tourism etc (just imagine if Salmon returned to spawn through Matlock and Chatsworth) … 👀interesting👍🏻

Are we surprised? NO! the only thing that is important to those in power is helpin their "pals" to make money. The rest of us can just go and rot, particularly if we live north of Watford!!! HS2 was an ego-trip for the govt at the time, it will make no difference to travelling times and will not increase business outside London.
