Kombat Boots is Brewers Dried Grain, Brewers Dried Yeast, Natural and Artificial Flavors. Why would that supplement provide all those benefits? Oldest horse I ever had made it to 32 yo. My current ones are in mid to late 20s. They are easy keepers by breeding. Mine I have to worry about too many sugars, as one is insulin resistant. Mine get soaked Triple Crown Balancer hay cubes with no-molasses beet pulp as main stay of their diet. Any other hay is chopped & have started adding water to soften. Pellets can be dry in a treat ball.

I have a thoroughbred that refuses to eat the pellets soaked. I have tried everything I can, but he won't. If its dry he inhales it.....this has been a battle for 6 months. I just don't know how to change that about him

Kristen McCulloch I wonder if you could very slowly add a little bit more water to the pellets each feeding so he gets used to the texture. Start out adding only enough water to the pellets to break them up but not be sloppy. Good luck!

Sometimes it really is like spitting in the wind with it. I appreciate your frustration for sure. In the past we've buried Apple chunks, carrot chunks and molasses glazed throughout and some horses thats enough to get the ball rolling. The other thing would be to have a feed mill make your grain for a hard keeper.

@@mariebarnes3454 that's what inhave to be careful of, it's like he is in denial that he doesn't have teeth. So far he really likes his senior feed.

Thank you for emphasizing to add water to the alfalfa/timothy pellets. So many don't and I cringe expecting the worst for their poor horse. I think it's mostly laziness on their part.

I have a hard keeper who can't eat grain so I use nutreena safechoice original, beetpulp shreds and Timothy pellets since she has no teeth. It seems to be working and is relatively cheap.

He looks amazing for 35!! Well done you for giving him a new lease of life! I'm glad the old boy is happy and healthy now! you'd never know he was previously abused! I've known some much younger horses that were always very well loved look worse!
