This SONG Marked My Life Forever !!.... I Discovered it on the radio, when I was 13 years & a half, & had to look for, Who was singing it, what Was the Title.....With the Help of a pen friend; He could find the references in a music mag, with the weekly charts !! This Song is an immortal Masterpiece, I'm never bored with it...But I'm not the kind of person to listen to a song several times in the same day ! That melody is so cleverly built; & the end is incredible, with the great Guitar solo, then the Alto Saxo solo, then the Classical Chords...There's a lot of poetry in this song, with Nostalgic Vibes....------- The whole Year of the Cat Album is also a Masterpiece; many great songs as the moving "Broadway hotel", a song about feeling alone in a big town. Also "On stage before" with a stunning guitar solo at the end, "On the Border" (second single) & "Lord Greenville".... Greetings from France ! 😽😼

I had grown so tired of Al Stewart's version, I almost didn't click on this. I'm happy I did! The song is fine. But, for me, the video makes the entire show. I'm an old fan of "Film Noir" for sure. I think you've done some very good work here. I enjoyed it. Thank you...🇺🇸 👍☕ (by the way, that Blonde 'cat' in your video is known as a "Minx" ;-)

This is a cover & the original version is from 1976, written by Al Stewart & Peter Wood. What's interesting in this version, is the singer's voice, really different from Al's one, & the drums... & the beautiful video reconstitution with the actors & the decorations, following the lyrics....
