The song desperation has saved me many times and kept me alive for years now and forever stays My favourite song.

For me, Snowblind friend is my story of electric guitar. There was a homeless man at our church who gave me a guitar for free and I got started all around November. He died the following February. Ride and Shine I think of my home country Ukraine. Join your brothers. Raise a hand. Fly the colors. Similar aspects with The Wall. I’d love to hear Steppenwolf/ John play one more time

He saved my life with his song called desperation! I was on a bad trip and I just happened to the word desperation on his album. My hands were shaking and I could just get the record out and on to the turn table. As soon as it began, it pulled me right out of it. I'll always remember the words! Take my hand if you don't know where you're going, I'll understand, I lost the way myself, don't take that other road, it leads to no where, we must return before the clock strikes 12. Well that to me to a place that I didn't want to return from. What I was seeing is beyond explanation. I have over 80 songs on KZbin. not because I want to be a rock star, but because I'm experienced and I have something to say about the journey to the other side of the wall.

I grew up in the 60's, influenced by the rock culture in US. I can now say at 70 years old being united with God the Father through Jesus Christ is the greatest spiritual reality in life. It is good news for anyone . My prayer for John is he find Jesus. God bless John Kay

@kimwestwood8840 there was a definite other world spirituality to a lot of rock music in the 1960s and 70s unlike today's evil pop culture

Great interview with the highly intelligent, articulate John Kay. Love the part where he talks about the letters he got from the fans, letters of hope and inspiration...

The album "Monster" was a monster. The lyrics are hard hitting and precise. You can tell alot about someone by what they say. It is my favourite album by them.

Man. What a huge influence on my life. I've been a life long fan of music, and it really started with Steppenwolf 16 greatest hits. Anytime a discussion of what rock band hasn't gotten proper respect or acknowledgement, Steppenwolf is the first thing out of my mouth. Great to hear his reflections upon the years.

The Problem was, I've never seen him so stressed and annoyed even BEFORE the Interview started. He came in and I'm pretty sure this was some quick last Minute decision by his manager, to give these students an Interview. You can see how in the end he is calming down, propably also because he saw how distressed the young Lady was. 😅 I've seen Viggo answer more stupid questions with a Smile. It was just the wrong time at the wrong place. These are the moments you'll see, even Viggo Mortensen is a mortal man and he can react in negative ways. :D
