I get the portability and stuff, but what about repairability? What about upgradability? Will that computer last me 10+ years through good upkeep and part upgrade or is it lowkey an apple product without the apple logo? AKA zero repairability, even less upgradability, planned obsolence and the like. In short, is that baby a highkey 5 to 10 year gadget or is it a 10+ years baby that I can live with and upkeep?

It is easy to take apart and clean with just a few screws under the grip, while its upgrade options are limited due to its prebuilt form factor, storage can be upgraded. Accessories can also enhance functionality as Khadas expands its ecosystem. With the current configuration, it should comfortably last me over 5 years, similar to a well-maintained laptop. Really depends on your workflow and how you maintain the PC. However, I think the fundamental design is more for portability/modularity than full customization, if you're looking for that I would recommend building your own ITX PC. Again it's a very very niche but interesting product IMO

I think the concept of the mini pc is cool.. however I do not see the point when it would require you to also have a monitor. It’s 1700 dollars, which is absurd. Especially with it only being an I7 processor. Why not just buy a gaming laptop? It’s portable, you don’t need an extra monitor, and it’s a little more upgradable. It may be bigger in size, but it checks the same boxes, with the addition of being able to sit in bed.

I was fortunate to receive the Mind 2 from Khadas as a review unit, so I’m reviewing it purely as a product and found out that it works well with my workflow at home and at the office, even though I had to buy another monitor and keyboard for the setup. It’s a niche device that’s undeniably expensive even for me, and for some aspects it does overlap with just simply buying a laptop with similar specs, but its appeal lies in its unique modular design especially if you’re balancing multiple setups or need desktop-level power with portability.
