Everyone wants to sell breeders and not meat. Eg it'll be difficult for me to sell products of pure breeds or hybrids as meat considering the price of meat compared to the price of breeding stock

Unfortunately, the rabbit business is unregulated, and therefore, there are no standards to guide operations and products. While this can be seen as an opportunity, it is equally a disadvantage because it opens up the door for tricksters and corner cutting activities. Lots of copycats. I would say focus on collaboration and build customer trust through transparent, truthful and genuine transactions as you have seen and experienced at #acerabbitfarms.

@DamoosAgriTech, i honestly do not understand your question....BUT, I have tried as best to respond...Copy cats? Lack of collaboration to indicate where people must play and genuine transaction mindset. I think those 3 points will open up the business for more available products.... but pls be direct and ask me questions that I can reply to. Regardless, look out for fraud vidro coming up next!

Good question, and thanks for interacting with our content. We are in the tropics, and with the right conditions, you can harvest every 8 weeks and forever! At least, that's what the theory predicts. However, the right conditions are the keys to keeping this plant forever. One key condition is to replenish the soil nutrients. Remember that Alfalfa is a high dense nutrients plant, and that means this plant takes up lots of soil nutrients. You continuously fertilize and water the fields.

Overfeeding rabbits is generally not a good idea, especially if they are breeding animals. I am not sure of the quality of your mixed feed. It is also Important to NOTE that information here is a "RECOMMENDATION." So, experiment and choose the best that works for you. One thing you cannot overfeed is "HAY UNLIMITED!!"

Has it ever happened that the young or new breeds start mating before the appropriate period?
@acerabbitfarms
@acerabbitfarms 3 ай бұрын
Yes, all the time. Rabbits are generally known to be prolific. This is the reason why farmers need to separate young Bucks & Does in the same litter after weaning. 6wks, 8wks, depending on how you wean and when you wean, always do gender (s3x) separation.

We need universities and research houses to test and improve on the feed formulation process and also use locally available raw materials here in West Africa. This is especially true since the known pelleted feed is made with ingredients that are not readily available in our community or country. So Universities research to focus and use local materials to support local rabbit farmers for sustainability.

I am in Oklahoma, USA. I am moving my goats and rabbits to all hay. I just found your channel and I am watching every video and all the amazing information. My question is about climate. Our heat index here will be over 110 degrees Fahrenheit this week. Do you have temperatures in this range? If so, do you do anything different or special during high heat?
@acerabbitfarms
@acerabbitfarms 5 ай бұрын
Hi @sandra333: 110 Fahrenheit is extremely hot weather condition. We usually see such high temperatures near the Northern part of Ghana towards the Sahara desert. Sometimes, in tropical Africa, the temperatures are high and even made worse by high humidity with very little breeze to cool down the animals. We have managed to create local climates by planting trees. The intent is for these trees to create microclimate (shades). Ou rabbit farm is located under shades with tall palm trees and banana plantation. We also provide fresh water to support animals. I can only recommend shades, trees and also choose your goats and rabbit breeds that are suitable for hot weather conditions...all the best 👌

Why are they not taking away the hay from under the cages? Is it of any significance
@acerabbitfarms
@acerabbitfarms 5 ай бұрын
Once the grass falls to the floor of the cages, the rabbit steps on it. It is no longer fresh, and the animals will refuse to eat that. Grass that falls through the cage are also messed with rabbit droppings. Again, it is not fresh and cleaned for feeding. All of this wasted grass becomes part of the manure for the vegetable garden. The lesson here is to reduce hay wastage and we need to design effective and efficient hay feeders.

Why is the rabbit bolting around the cage?
@acerabbitfarms
@acerabbitfarms 6 ай бұрын
Very common and normal movement usually in the early morning or late evenings (when a familiar person is on the farm with fresh feed). Kicking the hind legs is a form of exercise and expression of vitality or youth and a healthy functioning digestive system (no bloating). By mid-morning to afternoon, they are usually sleeping or quietly resting. Observing these movements or lack of movements can help you to isolate sick animals or animals with poor digestive systems. Also, design your cages with sufficient space to allow for free movement and exercise 💪
