Please be aware that this method does not really apply for e-shift gearboxes as after you top up on cold gearbox (approx. 4 liters) and try to go by gears, the gearbox drop it back to N after 2 seconds. My gearbox started to hold on gears after I top up to 8 liters of oil after it reached 32 celcious. It also won't hold D3 (3rd gear) on manual.

Just bought ZF kit from FCP euro. But they were charging 450$. I removed the pan bolts and drain bolt, saved 200$.

I have a 2009 BMW 335 X-drive with ZF GA6HP19Z. there appear to be two fill holes, one on the rear left blocked by the drive shaft, and one on the rear right near the transfer case. which one is the correct fill hole, are they at the same height, and can either be used for drain and fill. note, i would have to remove the drive shaft to use the one on the left, as there is no room to get the tools in. The car has 198000 km and never had the fluid changed, it shifts perfectly fine without any issues, so am i going to run into any issues if i change it at this milage

Hello, I'm wondering how to shift the car into 3rd gear without letting the drive wheels spin. My gearbox will only go into 2nd while standing still.

On my 2008 BMW E90 automatic with N43 engine, on a summer road trip from the UK to Italy, c.2500 miles over 10 days, I noticed heat from the automatic transmission tunnel in the cabin whilst driving. At the time it had about 50k miles. It drives fine otherwise and has done so since. Is the heat a sign of oil change required?

The only crucial thing that I'm missing is the lift. It would be so much easier to do it on the lift instead of jack stands. In all honesty, I'm kinda scared to crawl under the car when it's on the jack stands and that's what stops me from doing this in my car. I will finally beat that fear, just hope it's not gonna be too late for my transmission though

I have E60 2008 and didn't change it till now . My local service center said that Don't change it because the new oil causes damage to the old part inside the gearbox! Can you help in this matter?? Should I change or not??

hi. i have a 6ph26x, which has both fill and drain plugs at the bottom, facing down. how do i set oil level with this configuration?

The video says to adhere to vehicles change intervals specified by manufacture. BMW tells us to never change the transmission fluid. BMW of caurse is wrong. So in short this video is suggesting to never change it by asking us to follow what BMW says.

My question , the bolts at the back connecting the drive train which do i remove ? And os the a shaft that goes into the trans ? Ive never rmoved one before im trying not to break anything. Good video. The ATF raises quickly. You got about 5minutes after starting the motor to finish this job. Never turn off the engine after filling. The fill plug is a bit tricky to get back in and needs some feeling. Watch out for the exhaust. It also gets hot very fast.

One thing that wasn't obvious to me, but maybe is implied is to do the final fill with the engine running, made a difference of about 1.5 qt and got rid of a whine I had after I filled with engine off but trans at the right temp.

Hai ZF team..good day to all of you..please if you can reply to my question there is one bmw car with ZF5HP19 trany and having problem won't shift from 2nd to 3rd and then tha car goes to limp mode error come out on the scanner is gear monitoring 3rd sometime 4th gear as well as P0734 which i believe slipping clutch right...i ask the owner what he do in the previuos and he mentioned that he use an atf oil for ZF6HP tranny because the guy on parts store told him that he can use the same atf oil as the 6HP tranny... My question is are the tranny already broken or it is still can be fix by drain out the atf oil and flushing with ZF5 atf and drain it again then put a new ZF5 atf oil as per procedure...or maybe you can suggest me the better procedure for this case... Also there is one case where when i drain the atf oil from the ZF5HP19 the fluid won't come out only half liter come out even with the fiil plug open..i try to start the car a few minute then it just come out another half liter..what is the cause of this and how solve it for the fluid to drain all of it.. Hope to here from you and many thanks.

Well how do you get the old oil out of the torque converter? The genuine and expensive fluid is substantially diluted with this old fluid otherwise, making the point of the oil change service rather marginal I would have thought.

Warning for those that want to reset adaptations... DON'T DO IT! Unless you have done a complete rebuild you don't need to reset. I just did this service, followed every step to the letter, reset adaptations, and now my car won't shift past third. Checked some other forums and tons of people have trouble after resetting adaptations. Be very careful with this. Anyone have similar experience?

Dear ZF, I recently completed a fluid & filter change on my 2011 Bmw 335 drive with this transmission, I followed the fill procedure to a tee. Should I double check fluid level now I’ve been driving it ? Seems to be a clunck when moving shifter into “D” but not when moving it into reverse or park, could be unrelated to the fluid change, I’m not sure. Also will it take time for my tranny to adapt to the new fluid or should i feel it shifting better right away?

Is doing this at 100K miles on a 6speed ZF dangerous? Or recommended? Car shifts perfectly but when super cold, when going from first to second, exhibits symptoms of old oil.

Hello every one. I have 2010 BMW 550i M-Sport 4,8L with 6HP26 transmission. I have two code 4F8F and 4F81. Replacement bridge seal and 4 sleeves make better drive feelings but not for long. After accelerate up the hill road codes come back and limb mode ON again. Any idea what to do? Thing to change all solenoids but it is no solenoids error code.

Hi, just to clarify: DON'T we need to "flush" the entire transmission oil using a professional machine ? There is no harm on mixing the old oil inside the converter with the new oil ?

So is the transmission at 4minute mark a 5hp-18 or a 5hp-19? I was told that my car needs the valve body removed for the filter change. I want to find out before i take off the pan. But I have 5hp-18 in my 98 m3 and was wondering if the filter is at the bottom like in this video? Thanks for the content..
