You look 🔥🔥 in the bandeau top ! I never wear any because I'm too flat chested for them to stay up but I sure wish I could, even more when I see you in one 💛 And congrats on your successfull Leela top, simple knits are just so effective sometimes, the ratio of effort/result is so satisfying. And of course I did try a folded over stockinette neckline, and it works 😉 I did it in my Lakes Stripes Tee test for Ozetta, I have the deets in my ravelry project page ! And thanks for mentioning me, it always makes me so happy hehe 🤭💛

I would go with the Farfa Top! I believe it would be the closest to the Blouse No 1, although it is a raglan. I am making the Cumulus O-neck right now, and it is a lovely pattern but I don't think the fit would be really similar to Blouse No 1!

As usual I am coming to recommend one of Alice Hammer's patterns lol, Jeanne is a pure silk tee, and its neckline is finished with an icord. I love myself some saddle shoulders, so I am leaning towards the Tombo! But they all look great honestly

I vote for the tombo tee ! I think the contiguous construction is the closest from the square shape you like in the blouse no 1. And I’m also totally obsessed with it since it came out 😂 you could also modify it quite easily by casting on a larger neckline and shorten the shoulder increasing section accordingly, that would solve your concerns about the neckline being too small and go in the direction of the wide boatneck 👌🏻
@GardenVarietyKnits
@GardenVarietyKnits 19 күн бұрын
@@millahism I appreciate that I'm not alone 😂 thanks for the vote, I definitely am excited about the tombo! and that's a good mod to consider, I don't mind the high neckline aesthetically, as long as I can get it over my head - I just skimmed the pattern and it's like 30 rounds flat before joining in the round, so I do think I'll experiment with knitting it without mods and try it on first 🥰 just one big swatch hehe

Lovely podcast, thank you, Kelsey. I love your visible mending. Feels like a happy ending for the lost sweater 🙂 I wonder if your sock yarn is Onion brand, ‘Nettle Sock Yarn.’ I just knit some socks in a simple lace repeat and also found it to be not very stretchy at all. Kind of silky and robust at the same time. My label says ‘Yarn Weight: Fingering Weight (4ply) Fibre: 70% Superwash Merino, 30% Nettle Length: 185m (202 yds) - 50g ball Needle Size: 2.5 - 3mm (US 1.5-2.5) Gauge: 28 sts = 10cm Care: Hand wash’

I love how adventurous you are to just try out stuff and see what it becomes as you create it ! It's so funny because I was knitting with BC garn lino while watching this, and when you said you wanted a fingering weight linen yarn for you front-tie vest I wanted to suggest it to you... but I didn't even had to 😂 The best bandeau style top that I can think of is the Juno top by Vert knit ! Wow what a coincidence, I have a friend who has a few alpacas and he gave me some yarn they spun with their fleeces, so I happen to be in possession of two balls of extremely local and soft alpaca yarn that I don't know what to do with 😂 I have more than you though (200g of chocolate and 100g of black), so for now I was thinking on making a brioche cowl, similar to the inclinations cowl by Andrea Mowry ! If you can source a little bit more of it, that might be an idea :) (in my case they have the fleece spun in a small mill, maybe it's the same for yours !) And to answer you question, yes it is totally a thing to do decreases or increases along the armhole to shape wider or smaller shoulder. Armhole shaping doesn't have to happen exclusively around the armpit !

I have the same issue with ribbing zig zagging when knit flat, and the bad news is that it doesn't block out... The cashmere sleeves could become ankle / wrist warmers? It would be very y2k but that's the current trend :shrug: As for evening ribbing I have no idea, I accepted that they are inherently an irregular stitch, and I choose to knit twisted ribbing if I need them to be clean... I have read that you could twist and untwist purls while knitting ribs but I think that's a technique used for larger ribs (like 2x2)

Im feeling some inspiration for the buttons I need for my home cardigan project. 2) I’ve gotten into some heated arguments with my boyfriend over the validity of “finders keepers” (typically I am pro, lol) but I have thrifted a few holey cashmere jumpers and I love wearing them on hikes/camping. So comfortable, warm (and luxe) but I’m not worried at ALL about wearing them too hard. So excited about your mending journey w that sweater.

The knitting backwards technique is so interesting ! I've only done it for bobbles but it sure is something I would like to try more seriously one day. I definitely agree that instruments and stuff like knitting are not really tied to being right or left handed. I'm right handed and I knit continental but when I knit, my left hand does all the job and my right hand is almost completely still. I also played guitar back in the days and I have always thought, why are right handed guitars made in a way where you have to play the chords with your left hand ?? That's the most tricky part by far 😂
