If I engine swapped would I need a wiring harness from the make of the car I’m putting it in, or make of the engine that I’m putting it in. And would I have to get it all properly remapped and calibrated so it runs properly

@@lj2433 the best way is to get a custom made harness that fits both your swapped engine and the aftermarket ecu you plan to use. Yes, a custom tune is needed too.

Great video.....although Im jealous of the fact that the turbo can get a lot of increased power fairly easily 😊 . With my 944NA its a long road of modifications just to eek out the hp. But ive enjoyed tweaking it over the years and i love all the 944 family.

I love the looks of it being a 190, but listening to the build I can't help but think if you are going for function and not set on it having a 190 body just go e46 and save yourself a ton of money and time. I really want to build an 190e but it feels like i need an e46 parts car to get it off the ground. (especially as in my part of the world the only ones available for project car prices are the 2.3

Hi Thor, first of all big respect to what you build. Its not in my style, but also i am not a drifter and i am not planning to be one (too expensive hobby). I am planning a project like the 190E Evo HWA, but with a V8 engine. You said you had the M119 5.0 engine installed. Could you please tell me if you recommend the engine or if you recommend a different engine for such build. Turbo conversion (or maybe electric turbo) is a option in future, but not at the beginning. First i want to build the car as clean as possible, but a V8 is a must for me. I have a couple of CNC machines that i have build, like a industrial CNC Lathe conversion + big format CNC router which i will use to build my own Body parts after the 190e has been 3d scanner. I hope you will find a couple minutes of your time to help me out with the Engine choice. Thanks in advance and best regards from Poland. Denis
@WebrexxxАй бұрын
It depends on what you wanna do with it, what power levels are you looking for? Is looks important, or drivability? The M119 engine is not a very good engine for racing, or any motorsport due to the overheating issues. But for street, its a very reliable engine

I had bought a freelander 1 as the first car for me to thinker with. Knew nothing about cars before hand, but I took it apart for a headgasket and oil seals replacement job. Drove it around for some time but the engine blew up. An oil leak while on the highway dumped all the oil out, and piston 2 slammed right through the side of the aluminum block due to heat and friction. So, am I really going to put a 'new' 1.8l k-series engine in it, when the shitty land rover engine will always and forever be a liability? I'm thinking no. Now, I'm researching the engine swap experience. Any thoughts on what I could possibly get away with? As far as I can see I have 3 different routes I can go: 1) a different but better land rover engine, if such a thing exists, I don't know. 2) a different brand but similar engine, like a Toyota Rav4, (but then why not just by a rav4, right?) 3) have some fun with it and turn it into a sleeper. Nothing crazy, no 1000HP stuff, but something to make heads turn as a freelander 1 zooms by.

can the maxx basic run wasted spark for a v8 or is it specific firmware for a 4 cyl?

The most basic version (Mini) can run 8 cyl waste spark. Usually our customers go by the "Street" or "Race" version to get built in wideband, and it handles 12 cyl if you go by waste spark. 👍

@@dynochannel some more questions. Why no option for Lambda 4.9 in your configurator? I also need a full wiring harness but I’m not sure what custom connections to request. Can you provide guidance on what to get in order to allow for future options? Do you have these ready to ship out or is there a wait time?
@dynochannel5 ай бұрын
@@944terbo I'm answering here too if someone else wonders the same thing. (I answered Joe by DM). 1. MaxxECU recommends using Lambda 4.2. That's why we chose that for our standard harness. The harness can be modified to fit 4.9 if customer wants. 2. The harness is built to fit most customers that want modern performance in their classic car without cutting into standard wiring. You can add more tuning parts and functions later on if needed. We have a few of these kits ready to ship within a week.

Nice build ! Why not build the oilpan like a fuel cell, ore walls that keep the Oil from flowing back during G forces, preventing to destroy engine... Just a suggestion...
@Webrexxx5 ай бұрын
Good suggestion, but the problem is that during very long lateral GeForces like in drifting, the oil stays in the heads. This is a common issue for V engines, any more than 1h lateral force and all the oil stays in one head (It can even climb upp there from the oilpan) I think this coupled with the pan being in the front, it's just a matter of time before the pump start sucking air, and the bearings will get damaged over time
