Spring in NZ and I have a young finger lime, had it on the window sill for a couple of weeks after buying then a couple of weeks ago, planted into a tub with compost and blood and bone, bioinnoculant and it is going crazy. Around 120mm of that purple fresh soft growth on top. Curious to see if it will make tiny buds like my limequat, looking at your shrub I think the buds are almost as small.

@@fluiditynz , happy spring mate. Sounds like blood & bone is doing wonders for your finger. It’s now autumn here in the UK, and once winter hits I’ll probably cover mine with a frost fleece.

Any advice on the Pawpaws? Just ordered myself a couple of seedlings.
@joestropicals6760
@joestropicals6760 22 сағат бұрын
@@ollyeccles, hey Olly. With my limited knowledge on Pawpaws, I can advise that if your growing them in pots, to make sure they are deep ones, as Pawpaws have very long tap roots which can get damaged or stunt the growth of the plants if pots are small. If planting in-ground, carefully take them out of pot so you don’t damage the delicate taproot. Plant them in your sunniest location but keep them shaded (shade covering) for their first couple of summers as they can be sensitive to the heat when young. Also keep them well mulched, but not up against the trunk as this can cause rot. I recommend scrulch, which can be purchased from Amazon. Happy gardening 👨‍🌾🙌🏾🌱

Your tropicals are looking really healthy outside, Joe! The Julienne avocados have done really well this year, and those rose apple seedlings are looking incredibly healthy. I've had the same issue with my finger lime tree, all the fruits have dropped off, but it has put out a lot of growth at least 🙌

@@PeterEntwistle thanks Peter. Crappy summer, but when it comes to vegetative growth in the garden, it’s been pretty good. I’m really pleased my Julienne grafts are doing well. I’ll take them inside in a couple weeks. Im pretty baffled with the finger lime tree dropping fruits 🤔 I’ll have to do more research, as I want fruit next year or I’m culling it 😂. I hope yours gives you fruit next year matey 🙌🏾

Hi Joe, Amazing garden. Always love your jujube and strawberry guava videos. Look at the jujube trees. They have grown so much this year. Just wanted to share an information about jujube plant leaves. I am a Muslim person and wanted to tell you that we Muslims soak jujube leaves in warm water to shower the deceased. The leaves known to contain medicinal properties that are very good for skin. Therefore, if you want, you could save some leaves and use them in baths. If I found the leaves, I would soak them in my children’s warm bath. Just wanted to let know. Please ignore it if I have spoken too much.

Hi Joe, you're trees and fruit are looking healthy. I purchased a grafted Silver Hill last year and had it in a pot. Straight away it produced lots of flowers and little fruits. All the fruits dropped off though. No main branches grew. This spring ( Australia ) Ive transferred it to the ground with an unknown variety alongside it mainly to help with pollination. Both plants are showing plenty of new leaves. Here's hoping. Our winter has been relatively cold and it seems my 2 year old Soursop has died but my larger Cherimoya is growing well ( it will lose its leaves but produce new growth and flowers in Spring ). Happy gardening

Hi Kevin, thanks mate. Silver Hill sounds like a good variety to have. Hopefully by planting it in the ground and having another variety, you’ll get good fruit set and minimal fruit drop.
