Very helpful tips for each of us. Definitely as a seven can get scattered very easily. Want to give myself permission to just work on one thing at a time.

Hello dear, I hope you are well. I visited your youtube channel(Enneagram and Marriage), your videos are very nice, I’m enjoying it. For your kind information,your channel is not growing fast because your videos are not reaching your target audience.I noticed your KZbin channel is not updated and your videos are not SEO. If you want to promote your videos to your target audience and grow your channel fast then you need to update your channel with all video SEO. Then your youtube channel will reach millions of people and your KZbin channel will get regular subscribers and views will increase.

I AVOID RELATIONSHIPS WITH WOMEN BECAUSE THEY ARE SERIOUSLY FUCKED UP IN THE HEAD THESE DAYS! WOW! I AVOID STRESS FOR HEALTH REASONS WHICH MEANS WOMEN. WHEN YOU'RE AROUND WOMEN, YOU LIVE THEIR FEARS AND EMOTIONAL STATES. I CAN'T DEAL WITH IT ANYMORE. THE GOODNESS IS FAR OUTWEIGHED BY THE NEGATIVITY AND THEN THERE'S USERY AND INFIDELITY...... EVERY PARTNER THAT I EVER HAD WANTED TO COME BACK AFTER THEY FUCKED UP AND I HAVE NEVER CHEATED ON ANY OF MY PARTNERS NOR EVER LIED TO THEM.... I DON'T LIKE BEING LONELY EITHER BUT IT'S BETTER THAN THE ALTERNATIVE.... SADLY....

Great tips here. I thought it interesting to hear the language Holly used, and wondered if she has a super-hard three wing. I'm a self-preservation three with a hard two wing married to a two, and hearing Holly talk about "rest" and "worth" and "worthiness" spoke to my three heart. My two hubby doesn't worry about feeling worthy of rest, but I certainly do, lol. We're both helpers, but our motivations and triggers are completely different. Anyway, I appreciate the perspective here. Such good stuff!

I'm an avid Dear Shandy fan so stumbled upon this when trying to find more of their content. Related so much to Sharleen's needing to know 3 months in advance about a double date :P Also wondered if this may be related to perfectionism -- in addition to being introverted, I often feel like I can't/shouldn't attend a social event if I'm not going to be at my "best." I've worked on accepting myself even when I'm not feeling 100% and to just show up anyways, especially if I already committed.
@enneagramandmarriage8 ай бұрын
Oh my goodness, Kristen, so glad you stumbled across the Enneagram & Marriage podcast and related so much to Sharleen's introvert. That sounds very 4w5 and introvert on MBTI also. Love that you share so much in common with her! She did mention that she has these traits, and I know you who struggle with this are so caring, it does indeed make sense that you want to be your best. I love that you're learning you are loved no matter what. ❤

My wife a 3w2 just left our 20 yr marriage. No warning, no "hey, things are really bad and we need to talk"... just one day making love, two days later, I'm leaving. I have been a fiercely loyal 8w7 and have been an emotional punching bag for her for 20 years, but as Christians, I figured I could count on her commitment to God even if not to me (as I leaned on that many times during our marriage). All I ever wanted to was to connect with her. She gave me stuff, time, talent... never herself. I told her and showed her I loved her almost daily. She came from serious trauma and just cannot take it in. I'm her third husband and she put on me every single crappy thing they and her dad did to her, even though I did none of those things. I literally let her accuse me of stuff I never even thought of (she mostly attacked my character and attributed bad motives to make a statement seem condescending or talking down to her). I could never win, so I eventually just gave up. I think that's what started her "planning" who knows how long she planned it. She even asked me to go to our favorite date night place the day after she told me she doesn't love me anymore? I was like, who are you? Now you want to torture more like a cat playing with a bug... it doesn't kill it, it just maims in and then toys with it for fun?

I’m so sorry to hear this, Kevin. I love that you are processing what happened and not just running ahead. You are worthy to take time for. The heartache isn’t easy to bear but you are stronger than the pain. You are rising up and realizing not every “three” or human for that matter has this much trauma and you’re also realizing you did your very best even as you keep learning. When our partner’s inner script is bound and determined to hurt us, it does feel helpless. Keep learning and growing so you don’t use unhealthy methods of self soothing. You are worthy to heal. God bless you on the journey. Please use any of our tools here.

I scored a four and two nearly equally on the Enneagram Institute test. This combination means I experience sex as something you do with a soulmate as an act of love, care, affection, and bonding. Sex for me is experienced as intimate, mystical, spiritual, magical, and sacred. Hooking up, sex for fun, sex for performance, sex for pure lust or dominance, asexuality, etc. does not compute.
@enneagramandmarriage Жыл бұрын
That’s great! And a value system of care and love and bonding is a great gift to bring to marriage, regardless of your personality type.
@PaulHarrisonVideos Жыл бұрын
I’d read that fives would rather go to a lecture on sex and observe others rather than have actual sex themselves because it’s too overwhelming and engulfing for them. Some fives I know find it impossible to link love, intimacy, and affection with sex. The more emotionally disconnected the better to preserve their space.
@enneagramandmarriage Жыл бұрын
I’ve seen a lot of this chat also amid 5s. While its true that some Fives are more cerebral and prefer to keep their cards close to their chest, many 5 spouses really desire sex and just don’t feel comfortable asking out of thoughtful consideration for a tired spouse or fear of rejection (and yet may be very happy to offer responsive desire if the other spouse initiates). In my marriage work, this is often the case, or they feel a sheer lack of energy, like they’re already running on shards. Sometimes this gets expressed by way of shutting this part of themselves down or compartmentalization. As they grow, they learn to take healthy risk and may ask or open up this vulnerability on greater occasion if the partner expresses initiative desire.
