Is this the same tradition as the Mari Lwyd in Wales? Penceffyl literally translates as horse head (welsh to english)

Yes it does. We meet with the Mari Lwyds every year when they visit Cornwall at the Dark Gathering Tintagel. :-)

The words vary in each area, we were familiar with some lines and not others...definitely unrehearsed, would have gone better if we had more of that cider haha! :-D xx

We still went to Boscastle, and it was weird not having you there. we visited Joan wytte and paid our respects, and watched the sun go down honouring the ancestors
