I bring my switch because it's small enough, connects to hotel wifi, and has youtube with a better interface than my phone

One part of me doesn’t want to simply “don’t go there” when the main reason to not go is to avoid to get scammed, because if this is something happening in the mainstream of touristic places, it’s likely in some time I’ll never go outside my home. But, and there’s a big but, If I’m traveling or planning to do in family, Paris, Rome etc are places that I simply won’t go rather than by myself and if I really need to do so (assuming that it cannot be done online). Instead we are going to places less ripped, having good time and creating memories. For me the awareness starts when you don’t even started to pack. Next December I have to travel to Rio de Janeiro city… going just me and my backpack. I’m born and raised in Brasil and nowadays live in a big city here, but still have no pleasure to travel there.

A Chrome tablet such as the Lenovo Duet 3/5 or HP X2 can serve as both a tablet and laptop. With adapter/cables you can connect it to a TV for a second screen. You can even use it as a power bank to charge your phone.

Cleaning them seems to be an issue. "Do not wash." Who makes outdoor gear that can't be cleanes?

Regardless of location or purpose of visit, I'll travel internationally with my Eagle Creek zip passport wallet as I carry two passports and need the zippered interior pouch for those countries that still rely heavily on coins for bathrooms, laundry, etc. It keeps my larger bills neat and organized by country. I also keep a small Tom Bihn wallet in another place in my TB travel gear that has extra ID and cards. I'll switch to a different wallet when out for the day and tuck extra cards and funds in wrist or ankle wallets - occasionally under my shirt -- depending on location. I love my lightweight, lowkey Pacsafe backpack and crossbody for day use (slings are too touristy). And I always carry physical copies of documents, with digital as a backup (learned the hard way). I've had network failures multiple times, so as a solo traveler I carry a personal and work phone and often a third that has a sim slot as a backup. I've had Vodaphone wipe my US esim, vpns gumming up the networks -- no google maps, no translators, apple pay, nada. That third phone has been a lifesaver, and if I'm in a sketchy area, I might use that older backup instead of my newer model. Always two pairs of comfy walking shoes and dress flats for the opera, etc. I love my Peak Design shopping bag for urban excursions, as it has a bit of structure, tucks neatly in my bag, and is a lowkey grey color.

0:27 very similar to what I made years ago for my personal needs. Have you considered the BeltBro Titan? Gets you through TSA with the added bonus of not taking anything off when you need to potty

I love packing cubes but do you prefer regular packing cubes or compression packing cubes just curious. I know you suggested regular packing cubes.
