Voles dig differently, the soil is thrown out much like when a dog digs, mostly Voles inhabit Mole tunnels.

I’ve not caught my mole yet but I’m on it’s case! What gloves do you have that last 10 years? 👍🏻🤠
@garlicandchilipreppers8533
@garlicandchilipreppers8533 10 ай бұрын
You don't need to wear gloves a Mole is not afraid of your scent, if you think that wearing gloves that have been in your possesion and have touched inside and out some how masks your scent to an animal that is blind and relies totally on sense of smell and probably 10 times more sensitive than a dogs helps, your deluded. I can unpack a new trap, still with oil out of the packing, wipe my bottom with it and set it in less than three minutes and catch the Mole.

I see people use water. Or even gas!? I have an old car with heavy exhaust fumes, thinking about piping that into the ground to flush them out. Or would they just die under the ground?! Is there any lethal bait food they would eat?

@garlicandchilipreppers8533 10 ай бұрын
Firstly a Mole has almost all red blood cells, which enable it to breath in a near zero oxygen enviroment, it can go down as far 4 metres, secondly the Mole is travelling Miles a day and is only in your garden for maybe 10 minutes in a 24 hour period. Water or gas is pointless

Nice video. Won’t be long until we start lambing. We do late March early April. 280 New Zealand Romneys we’re doing in the south of UK. As long as the weather stays put. I can’t deal with anymore rain.

Moles have eyes...very poorly developed and they are very nearsighted. They are very sensitive to light and like you said, their main defense is their nose.

I've got the same issue here in Florida. Set some spike traps or gopher hawk traps on/in those tunnels because the tunnels next to structures are usually active. Look here on KZbin for videos on the gopher hawk trap and some spike traps. Scissor traps work ok too but you have to dig out a little, so more work to set.

Great video fella, really enjoyed it and found your stone tips very useful which I will be putting into place tomorrow as I’ve been after this one little crafty bugger all week otherwise I’ll be going up and sitting patiently with the 12 bore and wait for third put! I’ve been catching moles since a lad on fathers farm and now do it in return for land to shoot on in the area where I now live. Have you ever caught an albino?
