This is very early on in Lois's character. The reason for this particular series of scenes is to make it clear to the audience that Lois has a high sex drive. To be fair, Lana does too, but Lois is more exclusive as to her partners. Which demonstrates a yet one more clear difference bertween Lana and Lois. Lana is driven in large part by her emotions, whereas Lois thinks before acting.
