I'm a ceramic artist/potter and the name I go by is Wabi-Sabi Pottery. It fits my work. Impermanent, imperfect, incomplete. That's me. I never related the philosophy to travel but it's a relevant and interesting point of view. Another Japanese word that I like is Ikigai. In the simplist terms it means your reason for being. What inspires you to get out of bed every day.

This is such an important topic. It was only a few short years ago I found out that US govt assistance programs like SNAP and Medicaid did not cover feminine hygiene products (or toilet paper). So right before National Giving Day i researched which stores were having sales on tampons and napkins and for some stores that were putting limits on number of boxes, talked to the Store Managers. Some were willing to let me buy more, some decided to donate themselves, and just one refused to let me buy beyond the limits. Everything was taken to our local Community Pantry. The volunteers didn’t know about this special need either but was going to bring it to the Manager’s attention. I left my number and credentials (retired PHD in Psychology) and said I would welcome a deeper conversation about this. Never received a call and didn’t get a call back when I attempted to follow up.
