An axe kick, spinning back kick or side kick to the head is not easy to catch while butt scooting...and the blows are heavy if it is blocked. Not a good approach to fights especially fights where kicks to the head is allowed while on the ground. I love bjj but I wish the bjj guys don't get use to this.approach.

with connections it kinda works in MMA. you can clinch up/grab and pull guard/shoot for leg locks from there. Still there is a risk of getting ground n pounded

BJJ has not improved since UFC I. As a matter of fact, it has regressed. Here we are decades on and they still can't shoot, instead, they drop to their butts and scoot over the mat like a dog expressing its anal gland. They all need to practice less BJJ and do more wrestling.

He was a purple belt in his jiu jitsu gym. He changed his gym and got a brown belt in the new gym, then he came back to his old gym with his brown belt and they realised he didnt have enought to be a brown belt, so they demoted him to purple belt again.
