A year of taking your classes helped me so much! But I miss watching you work. Fun reminder!

An absolute bore and technically not even on the level of a mid -tier 17th Century still life artist.

The plane perpendicularr to the (strongest) light source (where a shadowless toothpick picks) is not necessarily the lightest spot if the object is also specular reflective (beside being diffusely reflective). But it is the spot that has the most saturated local object colour. The spot that is most specularly reflective (i.e. the highlight) is the other spot where the angle of an incident ray of light from the source is equal to the angle from the highlight to the eye of the viewer. The highlight mixes the colour of the light source and the local object colour. For a strong white source leading to a bleak highlight. (For a blue sky over a water surface leading to blue reflections)

Have to get that magical rubber wipe out thing immediately 😂! Julie, can you advise how come the paint is so easily wipe out? Would it be because it was painted thickly out of the tube without any medium?

@trekll - shouldn't these panels have ground on them for oil paints?
@TrekellArtSupplies26 күн бұрын
We always recommend that every panel be sealed (GAC100) and primed however, a lot of artists have their own methods that don't always align with ours. Although yes, oil ground is made for oil paint.

How much that painting cost? Is it still available?
Michael Harding doesn't use siccatives, but Gamblin uses metal siccatives. Do you find much difference between them?

Absolutely..using modern tools to design a composition and color scheme is not 'cheating.'
