People are rightly afraid to fail. Because failure cab have serious consequences. Managing failures is an art.

I am good at connecting with the crowd with my Puppeteer character in pro-wrestling I like how you said if this was my last presentation, I used to do that in theatre. But with the crowd I'd do an intent of at least connecting with one person, but really connecting giving all my love you know.

BRILLIANT evaluation. What I LOVED: Luisa had some lines that were pure GOLD! - "37 strangers see their value in me? All their positive input. I'm now making it part of my output" - "We'll listen to a stranger tell us we have value before we listen to ourselves" - "If you're needing some stranger to tell you have value, allow me to be that stranger" NEXT TIME: - Pause longer after those powerful lines - see above. The audience needed more time to digest the power of those key lines. - Her conclusion: Skip the props, saying "clear" and "reset". Her last sentence should say something with the title "37 strangers" in it.

I was thrown off when Luisa said, “I lived in South Texas for 28 years, that was my security blanket. And than I moved to Austin 6 hours north”. This didn’t make any sense to me? Did she mean Austin was different? The “big city”? More Hispanic? I kept thinking DURING HER SPEECH.. how is Austin different? As a listener and being from Oklahoma and frequently visiting Texas, those two lines kept me from listening to her speech briefly because I didn’t understand what she meant when she said that

I'd have to go back and review. Maybe she just meant new place, new friends or unfamiliar?

Imagine, 25,000 contestants begin all their speeches with “Imagine.”
@StageTimeАй бұрын
It would be better than, "Mr Contest master." The opening must set up the premise.
@NelsonPaulo-m5zАй бұрын
You can never single out an attention-grabber opening word. In my opinion, the best opening word depends on the gathering or the occasion you are speaking on. In fairness, I agree that “good morning” is not an excellent opener
@StageTimeАй бұрын
Yes, audiences varies. Content varies. It depends on the audience. Talking about the weather is also not very connecting, though always exceptions.

I'm going to use this in my college Public Speaking class. It reiterates most everything I've already said, but since you are a pro, it will make my students believe I know what I'm talking about. Plus, I can ask them what another word for "premise" is, as we use the word "thesis." Hopefully most of them will get it right away.
