"Gentle Lady" was my first glider in 1988, I made it a motorsailer. It had great performance, unfortunately I lost it in a low cloud, I was only able to recover the fuselage that today I fly with the wings of the Spirit.

Very nice. Flown the way it was intended to be flown. Too many people flying RC put on a big motor, and fly fast and roughly. I like it this way.

Are you familiar with the EPP motte? Its a very cheap kit (25 euros), and they are good as glider and motor plane. I am currently building one to replace my ageing Alula, i realy hope they fly as well as they are advertised. They would propularry make great small aerobatic-slope soarer when modified

I REALLY like these old style air-frames. Makes me want to build one of a lot of things you fly. If I lived nearer a slope, the temptation would be great!

Yep, beautiful. Built one back in 85. Loved it. Such a beautiful glider. We flew from flat field with bungee. If you got it right, you could stay up for hours.

Very nice video. Last year I picked up a Robbe P51 kit (foam) off eBay. Picked it up for cheap only to realize it was missing an elevator, no biggie. The kit can be setup either as power or PSS. I haved decided to get this build ready for Camp-N-Fly here in CA. Your P51 glides very nice, which gives me hope mine will too. Is yours foam or balsa?
@SlopeRCGlidersАй бұрын
Mine is a balsa build. I bought it from a swap-meet all ready to fly, so don’t really know much about the original build. However, I did used to have a foam P51 which flew really well. Hopefully yours will too..

Hi! John @slopercgliders quick question would you think an old multiplex fun jet ultra make a good slope ship? I've acquired an old one, new paint job, ditched the motor and ESC ! New servos and a 3s2200mah battery for ballast CofG seems good AUW is 650grams? Cheers Pete

Hi ,I built the same glider from the plan I believe in the 80s 😅 and flew it at the same slope on perranporth cliffs plus in a few competitions, fantastic to see yours fly there . I had a 110 auto wind camera under one wing . I would love to get the plann and build it now with a brushless motor.
@SlopeRCGliders2 ай бұрын
We used to holiday in Cornwall back in the 80’s. My Brother and I put a 110 camera under the wing of a glider and flew it at Lantic Bay. It wasn’t an auto wind camera, so we would have to land it between every shot. Most of the pictures always came out blurry!

If you think of flying models as serious business, and erroring on the side of caution always, I would have to be in the camp of not flying and grounding the model due to wobble in horizontal control surface after preflight 😅😂😊.

beautiful plane i'd love to build one. Did you build the wing with any reflex?
@SlopeRCGliders2 ай бұрын
The wing does have a large amount of reflex inboard of the elevons. It looks way too much but it flies great. It’s not actually a model I built myself but one picked it up at a model swap meet for £20. I just re-covered it in the camo scheme and reshaped the nose to make it look a bit more scale.
Nice concept but watching it I thought that design would be rough on the X-wings for landings.
@SlopeRCGliders2 ай бұрын
You are right, the wings are really vulnerable on landing. They are held in place with elastic bands, so they can fold backwards with a rough landing, but I’ve still damaged them a few times.

@SlopeRCGliders2 ай бұрын
Hi there, I built this model a few years ago and can’t remember the exact bits I used in it, but it would have just been some cheap 9g servos and a micro Spektrum receiver.
