I love abstract paintings in general but his abstract work doesn't feel fully developed in my opinion. I think he is massively talented and his work is beautiful but the new style which looks to me to be in an experimental phase doesn't feel resolved and the colours don't excite me like in some of his earlier representational watercolour work. Maybe get rid of the acrylic and switch to oil to achieve better movement of the paint and colours? Painting Light & Shade in Watercolour is a very useful book for watercolour artist.

I've learned more in this one video ... than the MANY others I've watched ... combined. Thank you so much for taking the time to make this. Vanishing point and eye-level ... two crucially important skills! Thanks!

Watching from The Netherlands. Brienne is a great teacher, explaining so much, sharing her thoughts and the concepts. Thanks NorthStar Watermedia for having Brienne. I will look for her channels!

Wish they would allow him to explain his painting process rather than ask ittelevant questions. When the guy asks “what size shoes do you wear?” I think he was pointing out to his group how irrelevant their questions were. Let the artist explain his artistic process. Don’t ask irrelevant questions.
@rtmca15 ай бұрын
It would be interesting to know what his thinking is as he applies paint,NOT what watercolor societies he belongs to or how he likes his website…he’s there demonstrating his expertise as a painter and they ask inane questions that distract him and do not allow him to explain his thought process thoroughly.

Just catching up with this. I see it's 3 years old. but just have to comment ...he seems a bit arrogant to me...not what I would expect at a demo for a group

I took several Skip workshops and even have one of his abstract paintings which he let me pay for on an installment of $40.00 a month. He is an inspirational artist and teacher who pulls no punches when critiquing your work. It’s one of the best workshop I ever took and learn a whole lot about my style. mraz

What an ugly piece of crap that is. I've heard that he he used to be a good painter before he became self indulgent. I like realistic art and geniuses like Picasso. This is just...schleck.

Finally I found a KZbin video by an artist who doesn't teach how he or she is painting, but the actual "concepts of painting that we can then implement in our own painting procedures". Awesome! Thank you, Brienne Brown for your scientific approach❣
