Have you ever designed a cart for transporting R2 around? When I take mine to events I have to disassemble it completely then reassemble it onsite. Is there a way to place R2 fully assembled inside a "cart" and transport him around? Please let me know, thank you!

I have a Bambulab A1. Can I print either the V2 or MKII on that 3D printer? or is everyone using a printer with a bigger print bed than 256 cubed?

Thank you for this video. I built the v2 body ~5 years ago, based on your PDF instructions. Now that I'm putting everything together I used your videos for cross-checks. Very helpful, indeed.

Brilliant design. Just finished building the central foot. I wish the skin was available in 2 parts for a Prusa printer. I had a hard time to print the skin and put it back together.

I think I actually love THIS version better cuz the it's more stable! Everyone else has the head wobbling. And this doesn't detour too much aesthetically. I think I'll make this.

How in the HELL is it TURNING! The outer dome halves or thirds "almost" seem stationary. But I'm wondering the division between them and the center red have thin wheels and THEY counter rotate to get the turn? Am I close cuz I can't see what's the mech?

Oh wow... I didn't realize that was a "design" feature... impressive. So, the 3rd leg is just a bogie then and only needs to act to support it... with minimal load. That's awesome.

Has anyone sculpted a C1-10P (Chopper) version of this? Love your R-series chibis, but would like to print a Chopper, or maybe even a hybrid! If you aren't up on the Disney+ series Rebels, or you can't get it in the UK, Chopper is a droid with lots of sass and arguably a bit of a maniacal bent. I will be building a hybrid CxR droid at Galaxy's Edge, so the droid having a "mini me" would be cool.

All versions are available, there’s both Chopper and Ch33p in this format.

Instead of hot glue to hold the square nuts in the holes just use a blob of grease, this holds it great and you can still move the nut about if you need to to line it up properly

Just starting my own R2 project - thanks for all of the files! One question - your downloads refer to a MKIII centre foot guide, but I am unable to locate that particular .pdf. (R2-D2 v2 Centre Foot Guide (retired, use MKIII)). is the MKIII centre foot guide located in another guide? Thanks !

Just discovered this. Very cool innovations happening here! And, may I say, you did an excellent job of anticipating and answering my questions/objections. I suppose we're all very predictable in that sense. :) One thing I find interesting is that you're only recommending a 1.2mm thick outer surface. I have an X1C and am aware of how accurate it can be - but even on that lovely machine, I still do a fair amount of sanding on some of my parts. Especially on the joins - I prefer to print in ABS and solvent weld joins. And of course, on other printers the layer accuracy just isn't there. Do you really find that 1.2mm walls are giving you enough "meat" to sand the parts smooth without breaking through to the infill? I normally do a minimum of 2mm (5 walls on a 0.4mm nozzle), and 2.4mm if I'm worried about structural strength. Of course that last is less of an issue with the dome which is inherently strong due to it's shape and isn't supporting anything except itself.
