Personally I always enjoyed fes's combat more than any other persona game. I didnt look too much into criticism of the non party control so I never really thought much of it. Things like stunlocking while a bit gamebreaking are unique and sometimes nessesary for a game that is a lot harder than any other persona game (post 3). But the biggest reason I liked personas 3's combat was the bosses. Unlike persona 4 they aren't tanks and damage sponges. And unlike persona 5 they aren't cutscenes. They are legitimate threats like the boss at the top of Tartarus that inflicts charm and doesn't take damage from anything but some phys and almighty. Compare that to something like middungeon futaba boss when getting the scroll back. It dies near instantly and has no gimmicks besides i think using wind. Its boring. I do understand your concerns and while I'm still watching I'm having a good time keep it up!

I do know this video is old but I do love the content so I was rewatching it and noticed something in the final fight, you could have used Heat Riser (raises all stats aside from Critical) instead of just your defense (I can’t think of the skill name).

Back then I think it was that I was too lazy to get Heat Riser + it'd be funnier to have Rakukaja as my "saving grace skill". Which worked out pretty great in the long run cuz each one of these solo runs has me learning a "lower tier/useless skill" for the final boss lol

My main belief of p3r merc is easier than p3FES easy is because i first tried fortune on merc and FES took an entire day to beat that boss(8 hours)

The characters are at their most complete when they've learned all their skills and have all their options, which happens during endgame. Furthermore, I think it makes for a more effective video when I show what I'm talking about. Ex: When I speak on how Kanji outdamages Chie in endgame, or how some key bosses resist physical, or talking about the 3rd evolution skills, I'm gonna show these things. The video was made for people who have played the game, so why be concerned about spoilers(which I warned about just in case).

i ran yukiko, chie, and naoto/kanji for pretty much the whole game. i’m honestly pretty surprised at chie and kanji being in last, they were really powerful with super strong phys skills and charge for me. i might have my perspective skewed though because i never really leveled yosuke or teddie past lv 50 when everyone else was at lv 99.

The trails music is all so good, and it fits for such a somber game. Falcom's music is on point, even when background music in a video on a different game
