Great vid. But I only got 8k miles out of that duralast pump. Just bought an OEM pump online from Ford for $67 and now the car is happy again.
@PNW_Car_Mods2 күн бұрын
Always buy OEM when you can unless the OEM is proven to be junk. Not the case here. The duralast pump is still going strong here but I will say we had to pull the pump a year later and put a motorcraft oring on it as the oring that came with the duralast pump weeped. So annoying. Thankfully the pump just fell out making the rework only take about 45 minutes total.
@cbthethird2 күн бұрын
YEah this pump had a failed bearing and was weeping very slightly out of the edge of the freeze plug on the bottom. On my Miata every parts store item I've ever used has either failed right away for within 10k miles. Made a big order of oem stuff and thankfully all is well. As someone who fixes my own cars and my friends/family I'm finding it harder and harder to source quality parts.

@@cbthethird yeah it is across the board. Don't know how much of it is related to post covid era nobody cares about anything or what is going on. There is a noticeable shift in parts quality across the board OEM or not.

yer video helped me out a ton. I have the non center console 60/40 and I hated it so much. knowing what was under the seat upholstery, I sliced the 60 portion up to peel the upholstery back. and I made a jig out of cardboard to match the shape of the passanger seats back, and cut the entire center part of the 60 portion of my bench off today. going to hide my redneck bucket seat conversion hackjob behind the same seatcovers you used. Thanks a ton. you have no idea how much I hated that bench seat. [ couldnt get the torx bolts loose no matter what i did, so thats why I didnt just seat swap it.]

What exactly did you do to resolve the reduce engine power issue. Im having tht along tb codes.
@PNW_Car_Mods7 күн бұрын
I only had P1516 ever. no other codes. The guys that know the system far better than me all swore that to be a hard failure likely something to do with the throttle actuator motor itself. After trying multiple different throttle bodies and a different TAC module I was down to wiring. Even though I could never find anything definitive we suspect the wiring got damaged behind the engine and the firewall either during the clutch change or engine change. Ultimately I ended up building a custom 8 wire wiring harness that goes directly from the TAC module straight to the throttle body and have never had another problem since. I am now back to running a gold blade LS3 throttle body for around a thousand miles since that video with no problems.

That is a fantastic question. We kept the Honda for another year after this until the lease ran out. Then the wife leased a 2020 Jeep Gladiator to replace the Honda with. The Honda actually towed this trailer better than the Gladiator IMO. The Honda also got better gas mileage while towing the trailer than the Gladiator. My insane state forced in another 50 cent a gallon gas tax in 2023 and that was the nail in the coffin after three years of Gladiator ownership. At 7mpg towing the Gladiator was sold off. IT also had horrendous range while towing. We used to have to carry gas cans in the bed of the truck. We now have (bought not leased) a low miles 2017 Platinum F150 4x4 with the 3.5 ecoboost and 36 gallon fuel tank. It is the best of all the worlds. More comfortable than both the Honda and the Jeep. WAY WAY more horsepower and torque than both the Honda and the Jeep and as shocking as this sounds gets just as good if not better fuel economy both towing or unloaded. The 10spd transmission is the best transmission I've ever driven. Even better than the Dodge 8spd. We still have the trailer in this video to this day.

I seems to me that once you insert that pry tool over the left hand side of the duck head, and pull the tire bead over the duck head, that the duck head mechanism should be rotated clockwise, instead of counterclockwise, because that side of duck head is the one that pushes the bead forward and up, away from the rim during the removal process.
@PNW_Car_Mods16 күн бұрын
It is absolutely counter clockwise. Direction of tire vs duckhead is the same as a commercial machine. I have seen a few videos in the last year or two where somebody ran the duckhead unintentionally backwards and it still seemed to work.
