1982 was insane...Barry Davis, Zalesky Bros., Gibbons Bros. Schultz Bros (both champions), Nate Carr, Kenny Monday, Metzger, Banack Bros. Scherr Bros. Bruce Baumgartner...I'm leaving a lot of people out. The Big 8 was awesome. Is the Big 8 or NCAA from 1982 available for viewing?

Metzger had a reputation of being a mean dude. He tried to make the Sr National team at the age of 50 about a decade ago and made it all the way to the semifinals!!

Wow!! They didn't even look like they were in the same weight class. Dave has to be one of the smartest wrestlers to ever do it. Way ahead of his time

Nate Carr was a great, gold medal winning American wrestler, and Dave opened a can of whoop ass on him like nobody else ever did before.

Is this the Eric Duus that wrestled at St. Mary's in Tokyo? My brother Glenn Wrestled under Coach Paradis at St. Mary's with an Eric Duus back in the day early around 1980.. wondering if this is this the same person?

Any of y'all know if there is footage of this match from the other side available somewhere I can access it?? It looks like Dave used my favorite grappling technique, what I call an inverse Whizzer, but I can't tell 100%

He was a coach at Stanford at the time. Schultz was planning on returning to Stanford after the 96 olympics. Hopefully one of the lawsuits has an effect on Stanford's horrendous decision to drop wrestling.
