They may be designed by God but they're not there to be indulged. When we are too much of any one emotion and love it and hold on to it and want more, we've made an idol out of that emotion.

Thank you for sharing this. I was thinking of a loss of a child in my family. It is so painful, especially during the Christmas season. I is so true this life will be over soon, and the pain is easier to bear. Thank you, Jesus, You are our greatest comforter.

I’m sorry to share that when I was in a care-receiving position for over 10-years, it was horrible to get physical care and have zero relationships ship. Feel zero interaction as a human being. Zero relation to who I am or what I could offer of value as a human being capable of deep connection, empathy, care-giving in other ways. I love what you all are discussing here. Your way of relating care-giver to care-receiver is much more healthy and that’s why you’ve lasted and benefitted. It’s amazing and beautiful. Compared to the situation I was in. God showed up, but people did not. Not in any real way. And because they didn’t see me as valuable enough to invest themselves, I saw myself as having no real value - like Jay you have given Catherine the dignity of seeing her value in your family and in the world. I didn’t have that and I think most with major disabilities are treated more like I have been. It’s my desire now that God has healed my body and mind to a large degree, to be someone who spreads awareness in the positive and negative direction so everyone can choose a path, I hope in God they will choose (once they are shown the option) the path you guys are on with God. And I hope to be there with y’all. Only God can truly create this, but it’s a new form of community His way, so we are also deeply involved in its ground breaking. Love you brothers and sisters. Please pray for me also. After watching this I see I need to do some inside healing work from the internal care and respect and value I was never communicated in word or actions. 🙏🏻

You 2 couples have the gift of love that few ever experience in this life. What a treasure you each have in one another. Katherine & Joni I admire your resilience of humbling yourself to the need of your husband's help with such grace, integrity, & elegance. Jay & Ken how encouraging to encounter 2 men who reflect you are "a man after Gods own heart." Your marriage-teamwork reflects God so clearly. Crystal clearly. Thank you SO much for sharing your lives with us.

This was wonderful. So inspiring. My hubbie and I are in our 80's...I have endometrial cancer, aggressive, my hubbie has prostate cancer and our 55 yr old daughter passed away suddenly from a heart attack 7 weeks ago. All this, this last year. We are just going through the motions of life right now. My hubbie and daughter took care of me during treatment and I took care of hubbie during his treatment. Now I have to have heart surgery. I feel ourselves pulling away from the Lord and going into our own grieving. We are married 64 yrs. You all give me hope. God bless all of you.❤❤❤

I’ve practised gratitude journaling since reading “1,000 gifts” yrs ago and have many journals of when Jesus showed(s) up. Even my grandchildren will refer to my journals and look for recordings when I’ve exp something with him/her which showed Christs’ love for me. My gratitude journaling is the barometer as to how my relationship with God is. When I don’t make entries it means my mind is less on Christ. So then I try (over & over) to seek specific examples of His love 🇨🇦 ❤. This interview encouraged me. Especially at their age & watching their faith grow.

Very powerful interview! Having had multiple diagnoses over 50 years has left me in pain 24/7 for most of my life.Your sharing encouraged my spirit/mind. The added dimension of suffering in a marriage comes with a host of difficulties. But we must turn to Christ and we must communicate in marriage to make it work. Thank u thank u 🇨🇦 ❤PS finishing well or suffering well is our goal as well
