That engine needs its valve clearances checking, it shouldnt be as rattly as that. 62.5k service item that people neglect.

agree with the reliability, iv had bothe the previous mk7 2litre petrol and same as yours, only isues i find that they can develop rust, the enginees outlast the chassis, alot of car for the money
