My son and I met Jack Greener at Craig Hospital in CO in 2019 after my son suffered a SCI. I was sitting outside on a bench during one of my son's rehab session and saw Jack get out of a car and walk toward the building. At the time my son was barely functioning but instantly after observing Jack's walk, i said to myself that is my son Max in 6mo. I got up and chased Jack down. I asked him his SCI grade (C5 ASIA C incomplete) and his particulars. His right leg was weaker, right arm stronger...exactly the same as my son. I asked him if we could talk and he asked for our room number but he had stuff to do and would be back later. Jack was 6mo. out of rehab returning for his Craig Hospiital's Re-eval program. He became our inspiration. Later that day Jack found us and started conversing with my son in a language that only those doing the suffering could track. Yes, they were practically identical. Jack became my sons spirit animal with his indomitable mindset. After returning home Jack and my son stayed in touch and eventually Jack started a podcast. My son had returned to high school expecting to use his wheelchair but seeing his old friends decided to use his arm crutches. That was great but when he got home be was shot and spent most of the day wheelchair bound. It was awhile later that Max was listening to Jacks podcast where Jack decided to climb Mt Whitney and after that he returned to Craig with his wheelchair where he declared that never again would he use it and gave it back to the hospital. After hearing that my son also decided that he would no longer use his wheelchair (didnt give it away). Jack was on of the many inspirational people that we met on my sons SCI journey.
