Thank you brother. This was a great era. It’s great to have all these songs in chronological order. I had the EPs that came out through secretly Canadian. Before that there was great stuff on file sharing. There was this great live recording too. Some of it got used in the original when I said I wanted to be your dog. Also the shows back then were incredible. I was at his first show in NYC I think it was at mercury lounge. He was an opener and pretty much everyone there was friends with the person whose sofa he was sleeping on. The show was so good. I was hoping to get some of the sweddish EPs or a shirt but he had no merch. I told him I had been hoping to hear a song he didn’t play. He sang the song into my ear and I was a fan for life. Second show was one of the best shows I’ve ever seen. It was a larger crowd. In the middle of the show he went completely off mic and into the middle of the crowd with an acoustic guitar or ukulele and sang unamplified. I remember you could hear your heart beat and other people breathing. It’s was dominant and amazing. I can’t imagine that happening today in the age of smart phones. No one was trying to document it just be in the moment. I think after that he made best new music on pitchfork and the next show was massive and sold out. I think it was Bowery ballroom.

This table still looks good and kids love it. If this had a physics update it would be downloaded like mad
@scottwickberg4137 ай бұрын
thanks bud, glad you enjoy. yeah physics are how they are supposed to be. the slope is made to be how Fantom was built. And even many versions of Fantom on vpx play like they are ACDC which is all wrong. When I play a table from that era in an arcade I love the way the ball more floats instead of falls. All has to do with the slope, which in turn goes into sling settings, pop settings and ramp heights. It was all very intentionally built. That being said i don't really mind if someone wants to bump slope and make it play like all the other tables on everyones popper but yeah in my opinion it plays exactly how it should.

Thanks so much for sharing this Scott. This and other of your videos have really helped me get into this hobby and coding up my own. Thanks for that! The code for the Orbital machine is really, really nicely laid out and commented well which I appreciate, so trying to use it as a foundation for the custom table I am working on. Very grateful!

Wow, I played this table tonight. Late to the party since I got my cabinet tonight. I think this was my favorite table so far! What have you been up to lately Mr. Wickberg? Any desire to make any more tables?

I am from Mexico from the city of Guadalajara and I found this album a long time ago in a record store. I bought it and I really liked their music but I never found anything else from them. Apparently it's a local band from Dan Diego, California. I don't know how his music got here but from time to time I listen to the album...

Do you have any information to share about how these tracks were originally released, or how you came to acquire them if through unofficial means (e.g. website promo etc.)? I've never heard Burn Down the Avenue before, even though it's lyrically the same as Do You Remember the Riots? Love the strings. Great job on this.
@scottwickberg413 Жыл бұрын
yeah many were on tour EPs and mixtapes. Some Jens would just post for download on his website back in the day. You can see a list of most of these on discogs. www.discogs.com/artist/317007-Jens-Lekman

If i could muster the attention long enough to really decide, this would def make my top 5 favs. Maybe even top 3 🤔... That's of course only IF i could ever narrow such a thing down. IF ever, this song makes the list regardless. This performance of it takes it there that much more.

@@soma_rc I had been using the example table to learn, but thought that Orbital might be as suggested, the next step and the better starting point for building a table. So I began with Orbital by moving things off the table. Then I got confused by how items were locked and grouped :/
