Thank you so much for this pristine non-REMASTERED post! Disintegration sets off rich but muted fireworks in my head. From Metallica's 1st 3 albums, all the way to David Sylvian, this is the by far the album I played most as a teen, and still enjoy to this day as a crusty 51-year old. It feels like a story, a journey, a soundtrack for all seasons and a mood enhancer all in one.

I became a woman to this album. I wish I could live inside of disintegration. I haven’t used a headset in a while, but intend to get a good pair. Lay on my bed and crank it up.

This album is SO worth multiple listens, my friend. For me it became a yardstick for a flawlessly cohesive and self-complimentary album. It set the stage perfectly for my introduction to its polar opposite: Mr Bungle's debut self-titled album.

@@honkyvanwildebeest8926 Thank you for the suggestions! What do you think of the cure's latest album?
@honkyvanwildebeest892614 күн бұрын
@@celestialelixir3995 I haven't yet listened to "Songs of a Lost World" except for Endsong. That one song I've heard comes across to me to be leaning very much towards their "Disintegration" sound/feel. I've only heard the live version of "Endsong" but it gives me vibes of a re-visitation and a mature reflection on the sense of resignation or "life is what it is" that "Disintegration" had, without trying to make the same record again. Of course, I'm probably just projecting what this music means to me, regardless of The Cure's actual intentions.
@celestialelixir399514 күн бұрын
@@honkyvanwildebeest8926 I had read that from other seasoned listeners of The Cure's records and as a newcomer, I can hear that connection too. I think Endsong was the track that resonated with me aswell after I had also seen the live version performed on the BBC and subsequently the band's very own livestream of their three hour concert. I hope they release that on Blu-ray because I preferred the live version over the studio. Not having seen any previous live performances of theirs, I don't have anything to compare this latest gig to but it seemed to me that all of them were on top form!
