Is 361 on 1:1 really the fastest time possible? As a kid (long time ago) before i even knew that speedrunning actually exists, i played this game on my gameboy way more often than i should have, and even back then, it always bugged me that it´s so close to a 362 so played 1:1 over & over again and i could swear, one time, my gameboy showed me once a 362. By now i "know" it is pretty much impossible when the TAS has a time of 361. Maybe i miss looked, or the sun had some shadows of on my gameboy blocking some pixels, making me think it was a 362. Stil remeber it and even shouted it out on this long bus trip. Maybe it´s just somekind of falls memory, that´s why im curious.

The game was not hacked and no cheat codes are active. Everything seen here behaves the same exact way for anyone playing. Hitboxes are smaller than the sprites of both enemies and Mario, which is why Mario survives by touching parts of enemies.

Japp, det gör han. Men delen av Goomban som kan skada Mario, dess hitbox, är mindre än själva Goomban. Det är även fallet för andra fienderna, till exempel alla blommor han hoppar igenom, men även för Mario själv.. Så länge dessa hitboxes inte kolliderar tar man ingen skada Och eftersom Mario faller hade han i alla fall landat på Goomban oavsett var hitboxarna kolliderar med varandra. Kort sagt: Mario klarade sig fint och det är inget fake med det eller någonting annat i runnen

Top of Piranha Plants have no working hitbox, only the middle of their lower body does. This means you can indeed jump through the top without dying.

But remember that this is not the entire game. He only played 8 out of the 32 levels (he used warps to skip world 2, 3, 5, 6 and 7). If you wanna see a complete (while still fast) run , look for Warpless Speedrun
