I did not order the OEM I bought an aftermarket one and saw in reviews later that the bolts are slightly too big but then watching this I thought oh it's ok they are supposed to be stiff....not in my case! stripped those puppies right out without even realizing it. now they are not fully tight but also will not back out they just spin and I have a loose A pillar. real bummer. the aftermarket one isn't a precise fit either, it sits like 1/8" lower so you see the crease on the headliner where the OEM one was sitting above the top of this thing. If you buy the aftermarket be aware of these issues. had I not been an idiot and took the time to tap the holes to fit the 1/4" bolt I would have been fine, now instead I have a janky ass piece of crap I cant even get back off. totally bummed!!
@pristineautocleanАй бұрын
That’s a bummer! From what I’ve learned in life… “buy once cry once” OEM parts are always going to be more expensive but there is always a reason why.

The cable is to prevent the part from flying off when the airbag is deployed and hitting someone. The bolts will fulfill that role. Good vid, I'm watching to not break anything when I run a dashcam wire
@Trinity45ORАй бұрын
Can anyone tell me where the gray wire goes into the white BCM plug in pin 12? The video skips right over that
@pristineautocleanАй бұрын
It’s goes into PIN number 12 on the white plug. Gm numerically lables the corner of the pins in the connector so you have to count to number 12 and that’s where it goes! It’s crowded in there and we couldn’t get a good shot of it of the placement since it’s under the dash and the connector has 20+ wires going into it lol
@Trinity45ORАй бұрын
My switch doesnt light up and doesnt light up on the dash. I did this in a 2018 silverado LT

Absolutely, I rinse, blow them out after each vehicle. I typically get a month out of them. They’re cheap enough that once they lose their scrubbing ability I toss them and grab a freshy.

Is the lower tie down point now completely covered by the bracket? If so, can you mount a little higher?
@pristineautocleanАй бұрын
Most likely is covered, you’d have to remove the box to access it or use the upper tie down location. Could be mounted higher as well

Which white BCM plug did you tap into? My 2016 Silverado has two under there: one right next to the brown plug and the other on the far end, near the brake pedal. I'm trying to figure out which one it should be. The one right next to the brown plug already has a wire in the #12 hole, but the one on the end has the #12 slow open.

so confused.. i order part from dealership. i have a 2018 silverado same interior color (ash Grey) part part will not fit correctly. moved the tether out of the was as well. Holes do not line up and they are not even threaded. Very strange.

@jmstokes16 ай бұрын
@@pristineautoclean Well, at least i got some closure from GM. After I returned mine. Apparently the part was discontinued for the 18's. So i went to another dealership and was told the same thing. Must explain why the holes were not threaded, very odd. hard to believe they should change something so small. Like a quarter of an inch off the mark. Oh well, sure would be nice to have when hopping into a truck with a 6.5" lift!!

I can see the idea, but i would simply be moving the dirt, debris, and hair somewhere else and into the air circulating the shop, not capturing in the vacuum where it can be thrown in the trash and the dust run through a HEPA filter. I do not want to be breathing the dust in some of these vehicles. Even the oscillators some use to kick up dust shown in some videos on here are pulling the fine dust into a vacuum
@pristineautoclean9 ай бұрын
Yes I can see where your coming from with those thoughts. We do it this way since it’s the fastest way, and time is money! We also do this before washing the exterior so the vehicle dosent get dirty, any other vehicles in the shop are covered with plastic, and we blow out the entire shop with a leaf blower at the end of everyday 👍

It was pushing against the grill too much and I couldn't clip it back on, it kept popping out.. haha.. thanks for the vid!
