Hey midland, how about challengeing Angry in a efficiency race with either using a 50 car coal train or a ten passenger car train? But both have to use the same locomotive. The one using least amount of water and coal Win's. Not diesel.

Is the open air coach a mod? If it is does it act like a passenger car? And same thing for the open air coach with a roof top

Yep the open air is a mod available on Nexus and does function like a passenger car, same for the covered one

@@ArcadeandAttica18productions it's either just a drag and drop into asset packs or a unity mod manager install. I can't remember which.

@Midland1072Productions yeah I tried railloader and unit's drag and drop mod installer, I just had to update it. Ima see if she works now, I have other mods know like better whisltex, cplw whistles, and zaks better whistles. I know how to get mods but I have to update it. Thanks for the help, I'll chat with you if I need help

part of me hopes the articulateds currently in the works will have their front engine sets separate since apparently the Skookum only applies power on its front set with poor adhesion

Yep there are, you can't get them in company mode without a mod (like bird town) but in sandbox you can spawn them in as you please. They won't do anything though when spawned in that way.

Unfortunately no 4-8-8-4's are available as far as I am aware and I am unsure if any modders are working on it

We have a similar locomotive at my local museum. It's a bit lighter, a 45 ton rather than a 55 ton, and a bit older, being built in 1941. It's been out of use for a while now, since it's not strong enough to pull our normal trains anymore. But it served the museum very well in the early years.

I downloaded Map Enhancer and dropprd in the Unity Mod Installer and it said it was Unpacking and Sucess. But it didn't show up on the map. Can you tell me what you think went wrong? I'm m ot very computer savvy. but i try.

I'm not sure on that front unfortunately, I know I have had that issue at time but then changed a few things and then it worked.

Love your videos midland. I think your channel is underrated. I like how you upload 30-minute ish videos. Great digestable content for lunch breaks etc Also i would recommend looking into East Whittier Sugar Mill and Ela Industries instead of Birdtown. In my personal opinion its much more manageable for singleplayer (though i do love birdtown dont get me wrong)

4 GP38s are kind of overkill for that weight, could've gotten away with 2. I've done a 104 car, 8600ton train with just a H6 & double head G25s on rear for power and that was just Alarka & Bryson. I had a C55 run a 68 car, 5200ton train a follow a short while later for Ela & Whittier. Edit: just food for thought. For the longer trains, might be a good idea to add a loco for rear power & air as just having them all on the front, it takes quite a while to complete air up the consist. Also helps with switching and cutting the consist.

Personally I think the time skips do take a bit away from the video, if it's possible can you do a timelapse or sped up version of the switching from a birds-eye view? birds eye view makes it easier to speed up without giving viewers a seizure and it's not as jarring as a cut.

Unfortunately a birds eye isn't entirely possible especially while running trains, I'd need to have a second person or account in the game to make that happen. I will try to lessen the skips in the future

There is a command you can do to slow down time, but de dev said that it may can cause problems because the game is not build for it to go slower than 1:1

Midland the fact that you decided to run 2 separate interchange locations on a solo save is chaos enough. Then you forget sylva for one day and the big train decides to poke its head out. I wish I had the ability to keep up with 2 interchanges I can have a hard enough time with just west Bryson

Pretty sure in PA going through the valley to coal mines the train never exceeded 90-100 cars of coal and that was with big diesel engines. Train usually went to steel mill, power plant or port.

Quarry mod would be a great mod. Lots to transport from a quarry. Lime stone to farmers, sand stone, sand for glass, gravel, and more.
