I just bought these yesterday. I fell for it too. I don't totally care that they were made in Taiwan, but I wish they would have distinguished that, and I think $38 (the current price) is ridiculous. $40+ with a sheath is what it should be if they were made in Germany like how their cheap set is $20. Next time I'm going with Japanese or American. These will probably do really well for HVAC though. Hopefully they work on hoses and 460v power line.

I dont have the olight, but i do have 2 of the hd01s. Because they are pretty great, there are no issues whatsoever in mine, they meet the majority of my edc needs ... and i got both wurkkos HD01s for less than 1 olight. I need that IF23, btw.

I was at HF yesterday and was looking at it. There were 3 available. I was still thinking if I was getting one. Then a guy came in and got one. Decided to get one too before HF runs out of it.

Very practical budget micro edc kit. Thank for sharing. To me, I will add duct tape wrapped around the lighter. A micro fiber cloth and a small screwdriver for my glasses!

Part of the reason I still have my ancient Leatherman Super tool 200 is because it has an adapter with it that accepts any hex bit.

Great find for a great price! I think the thing at the end would hold a flag of some sort and you could clamp it onto a vehicle. Like maybe it just held a red flag to attach to the end of a long thing being hauled in a truck or trailer???

I could cut a lens down to the oval shape of the kit. Paperclip is a good one. Duct tape is too fat. I managed to get some electrical tape in there. Thanks.

I've got a few that are kaput if you want parts. I think I now have 5 or 6 and only 2 work. I just got another at Zagray come to think of it. That one works but doesn't look pretty. The dead ones have cracks in the case. If you ever take one apart watch a YT video or 2. The clutch/transmission assembly is a bit tricky to deal with. I got on the Bauer band wagon recently. HF had one of those deals that I decided not to pass on. Buy a hammer drill/driver kit (drill charger and bag) for $69 and get a 1-amp hour battery for "free". They also had the same drill on clearance for $29 but one generation older. Funny thing was the sale was over but they forgot to take down the sign but they gave it to me for the sale price.

You are correct about the drill adapter. It attaches to a drill and the ball bearings are designed to hold a screw onto the bit as you drill it in. The one I have has different bits that can be swapped out for phillips and straight slot screws.

I'm not personally a fan of the Leatherman style bits myself. The byberry clone has a better bit option imo then this gordon. The byberry also has a better diamond/file also but of course still not no Leatherman but definitely better then this Gordon imo.

Nice, Phil. The slip joint pliers are probably Vlchek. Yesterday I found the 22" version of this box but no tools in it for... $10. It's in pretty good shape and I had to read the price tag 3 times to be sure. There is an indoor flea market in East Durham I saw on the way to Howe Caverns so I had to stop on the way home and at a couple other yard sales where I got an almost new Porter Cable brad nailer for $10 too! Several other items at both and a good haul from an estate sale the day before made my weekend. Can't wait for you to show everyone your other Jacktown finds. George
