With all due respect to Klein, I think the biggest, as in most impactful, hire apart from Elko himself, is Tommy Moffitt. Given last season, I think if the S&C had been rock solid and of course the Elko culture of detail, accountability, do-your-effin-job, etc. given everything elsse being the same, A&M wins 2 of their close losses. Mental, emotional and physical toughness and unwavering focus. Over Fisher's last 2-3 seasons, they usually had about 3-3.5 quarters of that. Elko and Moffitt alone should ensure those components are installed and locked in. Now, that alone won't get them to the PO. It makes them an 8 win team, barring substantial injuries. 8 wins. That's their floor. Now, throw in Klein and other coaches, scouts, etc. If they do their job then you're pretty much trying to find 2 (possibly 1) more wins out of 4 games. Coming from the SEC and given who they'd have to beat, 10 wins should have you in the top 12. 9 might but not consistently. And certainly not in season one of Elko. They need to win 10 this season is they want to make the PO. IMHO. They're starting to far behind. Beating ND at the outset, and Texas at the end (big asks, but time to put on your big-boy pants) might get you in with 9w. Still wouldn't count on it though.

Moffitt? The same Moffitt who went un hired by a P5 program for a couple years before coming here? I’d tap the brakes on the strength coach being some magical missing piece of the puzzle. It’s important but it’s way down the list of weighted importance. Otherwise, teams would be putting all their eggs in the strength and conditioning basket and chasing Moffitt down. Hes has a lot of hype and i just don’t understand as it relates to usual A&M needs and concerns. I’d be more worried about many of the portal guys brought in. Guys that have pedestrian numbers. Pedestrian programs. Pedestrian HS rated. Yet they’re hyped to be better or equal to all we lost? Makes very little sense. So many areas of concern for me. I have 8 wins as their ceiling myself. Win a road game for a change. Maybe I’ll change my mind.

@@brockster72 yep. That moffitt. Time will tell. Just because he worked wonders at LSU doesn’t guarantee he’ll do the same at A&M. And just because he was out of “ the game” for two years doesn’t make him a washed up bum.

How would notre dame have 17 games? He seems to be way off

12 game regular season. No bye so they play in the round of #5-#12. Game 13. There's another round of 8 teams with the 4 bye teams returning. They win. Game 14. There's a round of 4 teams. They win. Game 15. There's a round of 2 teams. They win it all. Game 16. He's close but I can't get to 17 unless there's some sort conference championship equivalency game they play, to get a 13th regular season game in.

Hopefully our receivers will be more dynamic this year. Last year they were OKAY but not great? Same goes for running backs.

Didn’t this exact thing happen when you hired Jimbo how about you let him actually coach for 1 full season before you stick him with stupid expectations for him to preform,be realistic it’s not that hard, if he goes over .500 this season that’s a win, he’s not going to make A&M an over night CFB Playoff team but who am I kidding that would mean aggies have to have some type of common sense

100% wrong on Fasusi and Jonah Williams. With Jonah, aTm has always been either said to the be the leader or the #2 and most people think he’ll end up at aTm. With Fasusi, aTm is the far away the #3 team and only if they blow away NIL with a crazy market figure will they get Fasusi. Now aTm and OU will do that with NIL but Texas won’t so maybe there is hope if aTm wants to play that card.
