What make is that Bouzouki?... Lovely looking and lovely sounding instrument. Well done lads sounded great❤❤
@juharossi161710 ай бұрын
Thanks. The bouzouki is a Thomann Concert bouzouki. Not very expensive or fancy but it plays well and has developed into a really nice instrument.

Fantastic……that chanter has an other-worldly sound, just right for the old slightly menacing tune…..great understated strings.

Thank you very much! It is a plumwood chanter made by Richard Patkós from Hungary. I love my pipes 😊 But still learning

Thanks. The bouzouki is APC - Antonio Pinto Caravalho Irish bouzouki.

I thought the sound hole decoration looked familiar. I have an octave mandolin by Carvalho, fairly inexpensive but a very nice instrument. Mine has a different tailpiece though.@@juharossi1617

@juharossi1617 Жыл бұрын
Hi Emer. Thanks for listening. The adds are something KZbin places in front of the videos to finance their costs. We have no way of affecting this, and we certainly don’t get paid for any of our videos. The only way you can watch the content add free is to get KZbin premium.

Thanks for replying. The add went on for ages this morning and I felt frustrated with it. I love your tunes and your playing. Beautiful.

Well played gentlemen. In my retirement I have picked up learning the penny whistle I have a question for Ketil: On a number of pieces I need to play the 2nd octave G#. Do you half-hole the note or cross finger? At times I find it difficult to get a solid note when I cross finger. Any advice? - Frank
@firarda7270 Жыл бұрын
Hi! Thank you for watching! Yes, the dreaded G# is not my favourite note.. I halfhole the best I can. Many of the A tunes in irish music does not have the G#, I think they are A modal tunes. But many of them do have it. I sometimes then play the tunes on a low E whistle or sit them out 😊. Crossfingered G# works on some whistles, but I still prefer halfholing. With patience and practise you get there!

Nice version guys, its a great tune by one of my favourite fillde players. Just for the record, if anyone is learning this tune it was actually written in the key of Emaj, just in case you wish to play it in a sessin so you won't have any surprises. 😁
@firarda7270 Жыл бұрын
Thank you very much! We are aware of the E major original key, but play it in D in our sessions. A bit more whistle/pipes friendly😊

This is an old Scottish fiddle tune Tarbolton lodge which celebrates Robert Burns membership of the Masonic lodge in Tarbolton Ayrshire. A lot of Irish guys play this tune on the banjo and think its Irish, I just listened to an American guy who has combined the Scots way this is played with the Irish and it sounded superb. This is also superb.🤩👍

@@firarda7270 Wow, I thought there’d be a ten-year waiting list for those. Congrats! Sounds lovely. How does the C-nat come across? I’ve heard they’re notoriously sharp, but have no idea, since I’ve never tried one.
@firarda72702 жыл бұрын
@@petterfuhre17 I waited maybe 8 months. The C-nat is just fine crossfingered. Very similar to my Killarney, but even purer/sweeter tone
