Ask older people this question, too. They don't have the emotional crutch that looks or youth can offer.

Icl, I stopped believing after "it was very scary". It's a comforting idea. Being so deep that you want to do that, the idea of death is comforting, not scary.

the answer is toxic masculinity. masculinity itself isn’t toxic but when society feeds you the narrative that being masculine is to bottle up your feelings and be “strong” then it becomes toxic and leads to higher rates of male self exit because they don’t want to open up about their feelings

No.. We need to provide men with the opportunity to succeed, give them purpose, give them the proper revard for their efforts(not the breadcrumbs men get in 2024, hence why man are going there own way..), and give men the authority they and society needs for our species to not implode and/or be in a Dystopia that we can escape from..!

I had an aunt who ended herself decades ago. I have eternally resented the fact that my extended Catholic family were more ashamed of her action than of their own failures. That her Church had seemed more interested in slandering her memory than in addressing their failure too. But two other things have also rankled since. A coroners court using the phrase "while the balance of her mind was disturbed" without any medical evidence beyond the act itself. And the other, an insurance company that declined to pay on the basis of that verdict. Whatever anyone's view of that verdict, my aunt had either been ILL or she had not. Either responsible or not. People simply couldn't have it both ways. And if ill, what did it matter if she was ill with broken bones or a broken mind? Seemed to me, then and now, the main results of a suicide verdict seem to be hypocrisy and blame shifting.

(eng: in real life, everything does not happen as in the video, all people will ignore your condition, no matter how close you are to it. relatives, siblings, friends, partner and society will ignore your serious condition, and will rather do so to bring you to the point of no return. Everyone will say, "you're useless!" "you don't have a problem, you made it up!" "you're so lazy! get out of bed and get busy!" "friends and the street are the best antidepressant" but they never felt it on their skin, never felt that boundless emptiness in their soul that you can't cover with anything. You'll never be healthy, just a defective human specimen.)

When an ordinary person stumbles, he can get up, but if a person carrying the planet on his back stumbles, you know what will happen to him. You know what it means that you have lost all your energy at a time when you should have all the energy to build your future and your life. It is a dark hell. Just thinking about it makes you want to vomit. Even though you haven't eaten anything for weeks, how do you escape from something that's on your mind? What the hell?

Amazing work, and a powerful message. I just used this in a class with my students to discuss mental health issues and depression, and how we as a society must find a way to help those who don't know what to do or who prefer to believe they don't have these problems. Talk to your friends. Hug your loved ones. You never know who might sinking and looking for someone to show their colors.
