It's a keyboard solo, then a guitar solo. And I feel kind of awful to point that out, but I want to be fair to Henrik (who I think is playing the keyboard part, there).

Holy hell, how I *A·D·O·R·E* the part from 2:36 until the end!! Right there on par with The Boy Who Wanted to Be a Real Puppet and Caleb, if you ask me. 16 years of Sonata Arctica, through all the ups and downs of my life so far. It truly makes the most beautiful music...

A great number of bands have changes in their instrumental perspectives, it doesn't make them worse or better, it differs their sounds and influences. SA is still a great band, end of discussion.

Abraxas Belial Jernskjegg-Mathisen How could a band changing its sound not make them better or worse, i think that ranks up there as one of the dumber things i've read.

No need to be rude despite disagreeing. As a pro musician myself, I state this very clearly: Bands make changes in their instrumental perspectives all the time, and it does not alter their skills as a band or as musicians, it alters their sound. Ofc, if Dragonforce f.ex decided to only play Tom Dooley from now on, it would compromise their quality to the listener, but it would not compromise the quality of the band. See where I'm getting at?

Abraxas Belial Jernskjegg-Mathisen We're not talking about individual skill level of the musicians we're talking about the quality of the music. Also the band changed guitarists which has a huge influence on the sound of their music for better or worse. So yeah I get where you're coming from but whats the relevance.

ronocko And I get what you're saying as well. In my opinion, the quality of Sonata Arctica has only improved the last few albums. They have a different sound, but that doesn't make it a worse sound. And far from a terrible sound. SA is probably one of the few bands that can alter their sound and the style of the music, but still keep the core. And the core is the most important part. The lyrical themes, the percussions, the rythm, the melody, all of this is a part of the core. Yes, their previous guitarist was without doubt a very good one, and he brought influences that made SA well known for their fast guitar play and aggrevated percussions, but now they have a new guitarist, one who has altered their sound to what sounds more melodic and a bit calmer. Do I dare say SA is a better band now than 10 years ago? Absolutely. Do I still listen to SA from 10 years ago and love it with all I got? Most certainly. Let's call it a treuce or what? :)

I remember when i first hear Wolf and raven, since that moment I became a fan of Sonata Arctica.... But i have to say, since Janni is not with they and they change the powermetal... I don't know what i'm hearing.... for example, Unia was the worse Album ever made :/ I'm so sad SA had become this.

Alberto Campodonico Unia is a great album, I love Ecliptica and I love Unia too. Two faces of the world of Mr. Kakko. And Kakko composes nearly all the songs of Sonata. I don't really notice any Janni influences

Alberto Campodonico Jani was with SA until after Stones Grow Her name. Pariah's Child is the first album with Elias as their guitarist. This is till Power Metal, but i'd call it Progressive Power Metal tbh. Whatever man if you don't like change that's fine, just go listen to their old stuff.
