@2acycles824

Without the holes they trap lots of dirt/mud. I actually cut many more holes after this video to help with that. Also I think it’s an airflow thing too. These engines get so hot.

@@2acycles824 cool, thanks for responding. I just got one of these for my 2014, I guess I'll cut some additional holes, mostly for airflow then.

What did you use at the base to put the all thread into? Was that threaded or did you weld the all thread directly to that piece? This is stupid easy and I think I’m gonna make one similar for my build. Thanks.

Looks like a beginner rider who is relatively unaware of his surroundings. While not deliberate, i do think that when you’re a beginner, and you’re on the track with other riders, especially ones better than you, there should be a minimum level of track respect you take on it with you. I’m VERY new, and have recently went to my first MX track (spydermx). More than 2 riders on it and I’m not touching the main track as i know my ability to hold a line is sketchy as hell especially in ruts. ( i also don’t jump yet and i don’t want to be in the way on the back side of jumps). When i ride the intermediate track if i feel someone faster coming up i get the hell out of the way, like ALL the way out of the way. Even if they’re 9 years old, because most of them are riding 10x faster than me lol
@2acycles824
@2acycles824 2 жыл бұрын
Always hold your line, don’t cut across the track. If the rider behind you is faster they will get around you, just don’t be swerving around on the track.

I ride 74MX quite a bit with my son and grandsons. I had not been on a bike for about 40 years. At 75 years old, I have been staying on the beginner track, but getting ready to try the main track. Even on the beginner track, most riders are better (faster) then me. When I hears or see one close, I try to maintain a line along the edge to give them plenty of room. I have followed a few slower small children that constantly cross in front of me so I am hesitant to try to pass them. I realize they are just learning, so I keep following until I can have a safe pass. these are small children, I think you did nothing wrong, especially considering the age of the other rider. I think I recognize the Jersey from one of our Sunday rides

Road out to windy hill for the first time . It's a nice track for the beginners . Not very challenging . I will give it a 5 star tho . I will return with the family . Before windy hill , Went to a old school track in Sanford . ( Devil's Ridge MX park ) Great track with demanding attention . Table tops were awesome . They had a 9 mile trail in the woods . OMG !! Perfect for my 1000 outlander . Plenty of parking for my RV and some . Down fall , had no pit wash or hook ups for RV . Met the owner . Pretty cool guy !! Plus at sign in (Gate ) that big guy was very helpful .

I was out there a couple months ago, and I did a Then and Now video on my KZbin Channel. I had a vid from 2014, then a recent one and made the Then and Now. I didn't attempt to ride the track other than to see how far it has gone. Unfortunately, the mud holes are created by the 4 wheelers playing in them, some of it was the rain, but now there are some natural mudholes everywhere, even when not raining or recently rained. I agree, I liked the natural flow of the track, and the natural roughness in the sand whoops. BTW, I subscribed to your channel!

I take it you are new too riding so you definitely should not be on a 450. Its more heavy and you don't even use the true power it has to offer right now. If you listen a lot of the time you where bogging the bike when pulling out of corners because you weren't clutch feathering or aggressive enough on the throttle
@2acycles824
@2acycles824 3 жыл бұрын
I grew up riding and was much faster back then. I’m just in it for the fun of it now, not to be competitive. I got the 450 for ease of maintenance but wasn’t having fun. I’m now on a 19 YZ250F. Definitely not “new”. The reason I was bogging the shit out of the 250 was because I was used to the bottom end of the 450 and wasn’t about to rev out my friends bike.
