With these parts, I doubt it. The Mk6 has a different suspension setup so it would need some different parts.

Do you have a parts numbers list ? by chance I saw part of it in your video but could you send the whole thing just to make sure I dont order the wrong stuff
@EBT_Garage9 ай бұрын
Best thing would be to pause the video and take a screenshot of it and pull part numbers off that way. Its been a few years since I've done the lift and I don't have the receipt easily on hand to pull the numbers.

You didnt need any axle spacers? Found one guy the had to get spacers because his axles bound up an blew apart.
@EBT_Garage9 ай бұрын
That's dependent on the height you go after with lifting. I did not need spacers at the time but if I was to go higher I most likely would need them then.

Man i expended 4k already on this car(similar model,mk4 1999.5 tdi 1.9 ALH, 02a VE jetta sedan, got the car for free and cleaned the clogged intake parts. To be back to life. I ask myself many times, why do i keep wasting money on this piece of crap? High mpg?? Is it worth? The car stays more parked broken very often than driving. I have some good reasons but seems silly, long lasting engine(as long timing belt don’t snap, turbo sound like a truck, sport feeling driving ) lol and changing gears manual having more control of the car.
@EBT_Garage9 ай бұрын
I've had a few, some money pits some not. Biggest thing is to keep up on maintenance on them and they will take care of you. The issue with the TDi cars are that most people drive them into the ground so your stuck repairing years of abuse and neglect. Then you have the halfway decent ones people want 8k for. I started out in an 01 that was run into the ground, only good parts was the motor and trans. When a tie rod broke on me and I hit a ditch and tweaked the frame I pulled the motor and trans out and bought a blow up auto TDi that was clean and swapped my motor and 5spd in over a weekend. Doing that I ended up with a huge upgrade to a cleaner car, 1 year newer, with heated leather seats, and even working AC. If your willing to put in the work the drivetrains will outlive the cars. The motor in the Silver car that's in the video has around 450k on it. Id say its factory trans but I grenaded that one a few years back and now it has another 5spd and it decided the 2nd gear shift fork wasn't needed.

I didnt have access to one at the time but that indeed would help to get the rears in.

Sorry for the late reply, been busy with a new abused camper here lately, But factory jeep springs. All parts are in the video just pause it when the parts list comes up.

I got pretty much all the parts on rock auto part numbers are in the video, the parts change so much its hard to put a list up as their inventory changes thatll link you to the same parts i used. Just try to go for what i have in the video and what i say.

Will any year Jeep lift kit work? Could you do a 4 inch lift on this car or would hurt the CV angle too much? How big of tires could you fit on the car after lifting a few inches or so? I got so many questions lol. Looking at getting one of these cars as daily since they look like a blast to drive! Please let me know! Looking for some info on lifting these things
@EBT_Garage3 жыл бұрын
As long as the parts are from the same generation jeeps with the same parts they should work, I Dont know off the top of my head what the year ranges are for the jeeps but anything around what i have in the video should work. As far as tire size goes ive seen people be able to run 225/75/16 but im pretty sure youd need spacers for them. Ive found a set that was slightly smaller than that and bigger than what was in the video for my car that ive installed since and theyll be present in my next video(s) for it as ive blown 2 turbos in a weeks time with overboost, and have a turbo upgrade video coming in the future.

@@EBT_Garage Ok, cool! So just want make sure, any Jeep 3” or 4” kit would work with as long as it close? What would you think of 16x10s or even 15x10s with a 225 or 235 tire on that size lift? Thought it’d be cool to give the car some stance

@@chrism.rigsby6714 Tires im not too sure as i havnt gotten the set i want yet but they can be played with depending on your lift and how much cutting/beating you wanna do

@@EBT_Garage front or back?
@Beanoman903 жыл бұрын
Hey man! I finally got mine lifted. Everything fit great and it looks awesome. Thanks for the video. I have one question though. I am over extended on the front struts. It tops out going over medium to large bumps occasionally. Any ideas on what route I could go to remedy that? Only difference I see between us is I used moog 81222 instead of 81220 like you did. But that's what came up when I ordered the parts for the wrangler fronts. And online the 81222 is shorter than the 81220 by 2/3 of an inch. All new parts, stock replacement struts and all.
@Beanoman903 жыл бұрын
And what spacers are you going with, because I can't seem to find any 2 inchers.
@EBT_Garage3 жыл бұрын
@@Beanoman90 Sorry for the late reply but, I dont know why you would be topping out going over bumps i dont seem to have that issue going down my driveway at 40 mph. Did you replace the strut bushings aswell? Also im looking to run 2 inch spacers on the rear and 1.5 on the front, amazon has a few options I just haven't picked a brand yet as im still waiting for tires.

Any concerns about: CV/tie rod hitting LCA? Over extending the strut? Alignment? What’s the wheel/tire/spacer recommendations/plans for this setup? I’ve got a TDI in North Maine this looks badass! Thanks
@EBT_Garage3 жыл бұрын
With this setup i havnt had any issues with coming into contact with the LCA or over extending the strut. I havnt had to get the car aligned but from what ive seen with this setup its not too bad as far as camber. Theres a guy that makes adjustable ball joints that i plan to eventually use when I do a long arm suspension in the far future. As far as tires/wheels im planning to run an 1.5 inch spacer on the front and prob 2 on the rear to have the tires running in different ruts like youd see on trucks. Tires im planning on going with General Grabber ATX 225/75/16 They should mount up to my current rims that il end up stripping and painting. As far as future plans, Id really like to AWD swap it and UTE kit it with a Smyth UTE kit to make it the only or one of very few AWD TDI Manual UTEs in the U.S. And even if their are other AWD tdi UTES there prob wont be many thats lifts and done in the rally inspired way like im taking this build

Love the build man. I have an 04, that has coilovers that was slammed when I bought it. I bumped and scraped everywhere I went, I said no more!! Adjusted the coilovers back to stock height, still rough ride, but not so low anymore, but now I want to lift it. These cars already sit too low and I just like the way a lifted jetta with some aggressive tires looks. Can't wait to see how it'll look when you throw some new tires on her! How is the ride quality? Comfort?
@EBT_Garage3 жыл бұрын
Ride quality isnt too bad rides about like a truck now. Can definitely tell its stiffer but not too bad. Aggressive tires on it should also help with a little more sidewall for more cushion. The rear springs should also help when towing trailers to stop rear spring sag.
