I'm here because of awful coaching, literally and figuratively
@Bulakensack11 күн бұрын
I got into playing basketball very late so my dribbling skills was shit, I can’t crossover anybody or blow past them with a quick first step, but I could do a decent protect dribble, so the “Barkley move” was my default move to the basket. Very effective if you learn good footwork and inside moves.

I’m a PG and what I would do when facing an ice coverage is that I would do a pocket pass to my big and makes him play 4 on 3 like a short roll. If my big is not a good decision maker just tell him to change the screen side and do a snake to FT line and then do whatever options I have afterwards.

Hi thanks so much for the vids are the BS screens really a back screen or would you say it’s a down screen?

2v2 BS coverages like drop, ice, or switch. A good tag will also be above the roller so you don’t get stuck but can still keep the ball out.

Why on earth high school and colleges don’t run this offense is beyond me. Relatively easy to execute and difficult to defend. All these bullshit complex offensive schemes are crap compared to this. Similar to Stockton and Malones hybrid pick and role. It works.

this is why the Lakers are getting ripped to shreds. Jamal Murray isnt missing these mid range shots.

Are pistol "chase" and a "get" action the same thing?
@hooperuniversity2 ай бұрын
Chase uses get action as the main action. However, if the guard receiving the handoff can't get downhill, he can look to hit the player who handed the ball off coming off the flare from 5. If the flare isn't open, 5 can set an empty ball screen for the ball handler. Chase = get + flare + empty ball screen.

Are these actions calls from the bench or justcreads
@genxfusion2 ай бұрын
This system was built for Thompson and Curry. You have to have shooters who can move, get open and make open shots. But they also need the ability to cut to the basket in a split second if the opening is there. This only works with the right personnel and it's extremely unselfish.

How would you react if you ice the screen but the ball handler still dribbles over the top ? I know this would put the ball much higher than the offense wants, but with the man guarding the screener dropping towards the sideline, how would the ball defender react to this? Over the top and chase? Go under since the ball is higher?

I’m curious, is this defense only viable if the ball-screen occurs on the wing? It seems like it’d be easier to beat if the pick and roll occurred in the middle of the floor
@hooperuniversity4 ай бұрын
You are correct! Ice is a coverage that is only used when the ball screen is occurring on a side of the floor. When the ball screen is set in the middle of the floor, teams will typically play drop coverage and force the ball handler to use the screen.

Its more of a 1..2 breakdown, rather than choppy feet. I play at the collegiate level and choppy feet= you getting blown by or the shooter will simply rise up and knock it down.
