Primary issues I've encountered with federal hiring: 1) Timelines are extremely lengthly. Many times, by the time the FJO comes around, the candidate has already accepted another offer. 2) HR does not communicate steps in the process, and often times doesn't respond at all to inquiry. It takes threatening a congressional inquiry to get them to respond. 3) Hiring managers contact references too early in the process. This leads to references being contacted too often without any real reason. References should only be contacted as a final vet before extending an offer. 4) The job postings do not match what the positions actually entail, mismatching candidates for roles. 5) Agencies are extremely stingy with the special pay scales/pay rates.

Can I simultaneously work in one role that requires a Secret clearance and another that requires a Public Trust clearance?

My PT is with the VA adjudication team. It’s a reinvestigation and I have serious concerns about my finances. Are SOR’s sent out in PT determination? Will I be able to respond to it? If the VA received my response and still wants to take an action against me can I then have an opportunity to refute? Do I keep my job during this process?

If my adjudication send me a SOR, and I respond and then the agency wants to take an action against me can I then have recourse to that decision and do I keep my job during that period

If I get a SOR for a public trust for financial reasons do I keep my job during my response time?

Do I keep my job after receiving an SOR? I’m being reinvestigated for my public trust.

I'm concerned about the lengthy wait times for the DoE Q clearance and how this might impact my job prospects. Let's say you get that job which pays higher and you decide to go for it and drop the DoE, would the DoD be able to pull your old secret level status or that's lost at this point due to the DoE transfer process?

Hello, I am 26 and did not file taxes when I was 18 or 19 because I did not meet the income requirement to need to do so. I made like 3k one year and 7k the next year as a dependent. From my research it says 12k or lower single dependent does not need to file in those years. I have filed taxes since then. Do you think this could be a concern? I am in the final bit of my SF86 and I plan to mention it in my comment section.
