I mean, Steve Vai and Buckethead and all those guys - obviously, they're incredible technicians and all of that, but there's something about the ethereal wail of Neil Young when he plays electric guitar that just says so much more to me than those guys ever can. He's playing far fewer notes and with less precision than the technical wizards but the meaning he puts into them is immense.

So how the hell do you go sideways through Time again? First heard this on the jukebox at the Hat & Feather in Bath back in '77. Pub owner Geoff cranked the volume up to "eleven" right at afternoon closing time. Was like a shot of whatever Lemmy & Co were doing back in them days. Fun times...

I saw them in either 1982 or ‘83 in Providence. Problem was their lead guy was sick and couldn’t sing. They tried their best that night but I can imagine how tough it is to get on stage and perform when your throat is sore and you feel like crap.

It's almost to beautiful, so sublime that it's painful. Of all the versions of this song on all the platforms this one feels the most perfect to me. What a gift to this world Neil Young is.
