THANK YOU for the instructions in a calm manner. Your video is a welcome change to the fast-talking, videos that are hard to hear (because of background music)

Thanks for your feedback. I often thought my videos weren't fast or as polished or slick, but I've received comments like yours a number of times that have reassured me that my simple approach is helpful.

If they get the sequence incorrect? Do you just wait until they get it correct as a motivation?

Impressive! this is so engaging for students as you mentioned. I have purchased a couple of Leanne’s playground but not ventured into putting it together. You have really broken it down where I’m understanding better. Thank you Janet!

What is the name of this playground?
@jg959usa4 ай бұрын
It's called: Literacy Classroom 4: An Open Syllable Template. You can find a link in the comments.

I’m trained in traditional OG from OGA. Would this playground be used full? Is it just Barton?
@jg959usa4 ай бұрын
@@teresastoupas2079 On one hand, it is a playground created for tutors in that program, however, the main Barton components are the rules pictures (which you can replace with your own or delete). The vowel team material and units or glued sounds (ang, ing...etc.) could fit most programs. You can change the color of the tiles to your own choices and add your own letters, etc. You can also upload your own PDF or Powerpoint files, so I think it's pretty customizable. I'd check out her video link and see if you think you can make it work for your set up.

How do you keep your letter tiles for each letters in the whiteboard?
@jg959usa4 ай бұрын
You can create a tileboard on any whiteboard page using sticky notes. Once you create each tile and put it in place, lock it then make it cloneable. Then your tileboard will stay in place and you can drag tiles down from it without disturbing the board. You can also copy the whiteboard page and add it to any new activity.

Thank you Janet for making this video. I’ve really struggled with putting my lessons on Koala but I love the platform! Do you find using Whizzimo still a valuable subscription to have? I love playground and everything you’ve done with it using Barton. I’m retired and 67 , technology and I struggle. Thank you again for sharimg
@jg959usa6 ай бұрын
I hear you on the technology learning curve! I do still like to use Whizzimo in Koala, because I think the premade words in lessons and having everything organized by lesson saves a great deal of time. I will switch back and forth and sometimes do reading/spelling in Whizzimo, or in the playground. However, anyone can definitely just make a tileboard and upload student pages and just use Koala. It will just take some work (and know-how) to do it.
