I would switch the side you have the belt clip on so the rubber grip doesn’t wear, if you still have the knife.

I just received my Spyderco Dragonfly 2 Zome. My first impression was how small it is. I typically pocket carry without using the clip; in fact, I removed the clip from the knife. I use a knife primarily to open packages, mail, cut clothing tags etc. I'm liking the light weight, thin profile, sharpness, and ease of one hand opening/ closing. Very suitable EDC.

Cool review. I have the S35VN version. I carry my knife on my belt sometimes. I’ve busted a lot of pocket clips and came close to losing my knife a few times. I try to carry it in my pocket now. My liner is very stiff too. I’m hoping it loosens up a bit.

I was confused at the blade height difference when I bought 2 knives both advertised as the 511 (one from Atwood's and one from Amazon). I like the taller blade

Still a popular knife in my collection. I purchase knives starting at around $24.00 all the way up to $2000.00 . The ones I purchase that are under $200.00 are knives that have a use and can be used without worrying about wear.

They are now offering some of the designs from this line in D2, which is gonna have great edge retention. I personally have no problem with 8cr, especially at the price. I have wanted an emerson designed folder for a while, and I just can't see spending the extra money for slightly better steel. I would love a US made, but I think the tradeoff makes it worth it, especially since the qc and finishing on the full blown Emerson knives have proved to be lacking in many cases. Thanks for the video. Enjoy your knives

Hi from 2022, thanks for the video! You're the only resource I've found confirming that the G10 was revised thinner and less grippy than previous models. I'd worn my old one pretty hard over the last decade and was finally able to get a replacement in XHP on an ebay collection sale, but was worried it was counterfeit because of the scales! FWIW those pins engage the scales, but aren't peened over at all so you can disassemble easily just removing the screws. In case you haven't tried yet over the last 4 years :)

I’ve been carrying this knife (I believe the model number is actually 6030) for a few weeks and am really liking it. I have several older Emersons but quickly looking up what they sell for today makes me leery about loosing one so I got this one as a carry.

If you own the 511 and 546, would the Pro be an advantage or improvement?
@aimansyahmidzulkhairy909 Жыл бұрын
To me, there is an improvement. The pro series has a wider blade, meaning you will get more life out of the blade. The grip is better since it has the rubber material over mould. These are the added feature that is worth the price to me.

I just ordered a Dragonfly 2 Zome. I have a Manix 2 lightweight, but I needed something smaller for short hikes in the woods. Manix 2 would be kinda overkill, and my tiny Swiss Army-pocket knife would be too small and flimsy. Really looking forward to getting it. And I LOVE the Zome pattern on it. Can't want to see it in real life. Btw, I live in Norway, where no-one carries knifes. It's not legal to carry AT ALL, unless you have "a good reason to", like fishing, hiking, you're working and need a knife. You are not allowed to just have a knife with you without good reason. Therefore a Dragonfly is the perfect size, since it's small and non-threatening, since people are not used to seeing knives out at all. So flipping out a Dragonfly in the bush seems more acceptable than a larger knife. Thank you for the reveiw, because it was one of the videos that really hooked me and made it easier to make the decision to order it.

@levi g, I live in Sweden and we have the same laws. I really wanted a para 3 or something more substantial. But I know it would serve me useless because I would never be able to use it I public whiteout scaring a lot of people. So what’s the purpose of a pocket knife that can’t be used? So finally I decided on the dragonfly 2. It’s small but still seems like u get a lot of “spiderco” feeling I seem to look for. But big enough to be as much knife as I dare to use in public. Just ordered the same one as in the video. Will get it in a couple of days. What did you think about yours?
@LeviG3 жыл бұрын
Looks like we're in the very same boat, heh! I am very happy with the knife. Been using it a lot for both hiking and day-to-day task like opening opening stuff up. The mechanism is holding up perfectly, and the steel is very durable (for my use, at least). Even though I have a Manix 2, I always chose to bring the Dragonfly with simply because it's enough, and it dissappears in the pocket.

I stopped watching after 52 seconds when your lily white hands appeared on the screen and you made a sound like you were lifting 200 lbs as opposed to opening a pocket knife. The idea that you need a knife you can "Play With" all day ended your credibility

I have a Pro S, and love it. I haven't really found anything that I strongly dislike about it. Great knife at a great price. Surprisingly, I actually like it better than the Companion because of the way it feels in my hand. Fairly easy to sharpen too. With stropping I can get it shaving sharp. I like the stainless so much that I'm in no hurry to try the carbon.

If you wanted to freehand sharpen then just get the blade grinding attachment. I don't even understand why you aren't using the guides. It gives you more consistency in sharpening.
@WardEnterprises4 жыл бұрын
Not trying to sound rude man but you really should put the guide back on. Your knife would get so much sharper. 2 things are very obvious from the freehand attempts. 1. You’re moving the knife left to right as you’re sharpening which is giving uneven angles and 2. Your angles are different from the left side to the right.
