What i do not really grasp, is how much does it account for the actual computation. In simple SGD we just see about 2 or 3 multiplications (matrix ones). In RMSprop however, we see there are several different functions that are used, like sqrt, squares AND multiplications + division. How does these "fewer iterations" compare to the increase in complexity, and in computation time totals? In other words -> *i want to be* TIME-WISE FASTER, *not just* STEP-WISE FASTER.

Has anyone tried this in a VM yet? I want to do this but I host my systems in a data center and want to know if it will cause too many issues running via something like Proxmox or VMware ESXI. I want to run from there just in cause OS crashes I can just reboot via the hypervisor and not need to drive to the system each time.

That's 48GB per memory module! What a spec and what a system! Which apps enable the actual machine learning?

Hope you enjoy it! One recommendation I would consider trying is checking out this repo: github.com/JonathanTreffler/backblaze-personal-wine-container. I personally haven't had a chance to check it out. A fully-fledged Windows VM is really overkill just for one app, so if you can get this working, that'd be really cool. Additionally, I've been using robocopy instead to copy the files over from the NAS to the Windows VM hard drive. It's a little more robust and doesn't require third-party software.

Indeed, this project it's great! And to make this project even cooler, is there any way to render the video every x episodes? (I tried using render(), but it didn't work) And can we speed up the training (by speeding up the game)?

Excellent Video. Especially since you written down the equations from the viewpoint of a single weight. Many researchers like to write down more abstract notation that are hard to grasp for people that never studied this topic.

Thanks for this video. I am just a bit confused about what W is. Is it the parameters of the objective function or the function itself? From my view, W_t+1 are the resulting parameters after updates, but on the other hand, the gradient needs to be computed for the objective function and not the parameters directly

Didn't expect to have to learn three optimizers in order to understand Adam, but here we are. It took me so much time to go through this video, and I had to have Chat GPT explain those formulas a bit more in depth before it slowly started to make sense. But I think I've got the (math) intuition behind it now. Thanks for this video, lots of others skip the math but like, you cannot understand without the math because ML IS math, right?! Btw the visualizations were pretty great!
