Yeah you're right, this whole motion control stuff was so new back then that they thought it would make the game entertaining and scary enough. I've seen every test footage of the demo where people in a dark room tried the game and got scared quite frequently. I think it had a magic at that time and to be fair not a lot of horror games were made that way back then.

Well its kinda magical if you think about it. Schools, hospitals or places like these are normal everyday places that people approach daily, so its the perfect material for horror since buildings like these are not out of place.

Thanks man appreciated. This was one of those games that I loved back then but never actually had the chance to try out. And no one seemed to care about the game so I thought that I would be the one to show some stuff. And yes u can play it on pc using dolphin. Any version will do. As for the jumpscares, you just need to set up a secondary controller on the gamepad(or something like that) menu inside dolphin and set the A button to any button u want on ur keyboard.

@@setstreamjam8446 I probably should have said by now that I was actually hoping the scares would be self-activating as far as the 2nd player clip art ones go (lol). Like, if I don't know they're coming then maybe they'd be somewhat almost scary if I was super high. I actually have a copy of this as well as a functioning Wii, so if I have to activate the scares myself, was thinking of just grabbing another Wii remote as I point my camera at the tv screen lmao

@@setstreamjam8446 I know. I'm trying the two remotes thing as we speak. Playing through this game really makes me hope for some kind of fan made remaster. Like, imagine for example if Kayako functioned somewhat similarly to the AI in Alien: Isolation and there were very few scripted moments with no variations. If there was a strong sense of being hunted/toyed with as well as an unpredictability factor that makes you dread turning every corner just as much as standing still, it probably could be a much more powerful horror game.

@@coyotebongwater6833 the only thing that I could think of is making it in unreal engine. If the models could be somehow ripped from the game into blender or something, then I think it could be made with unreal engine. But thats beyond my knowledge.

Ey thanks man. Yeah I was thinking about finishing it now that I started it, but only to show the puzzle pieces and the interactionable stuff like in this chapter. Just finished the hospital chapter yesterday and it was my longest video yet about this game. But only because some events are random and you must play the chapter more than once to see every possible outcome for each event , for example there was a room in my video where 3 things could happen by a random chance. Outcome 1: nothing happens Outcome 2: Kayako's eye pops up on the TV near the wall Outcome 3: upon pressing the TV button, Kayako will start growling, and her eye pops up on the TV behind the curtain There were also another room in my video where 2 things could happen by a random chance Outcome 1: nothing happens upon entering the room and turning on the TV's Outcome 2: chairs will start to fall over each time you turn on a TV There were other stuff as well but check out my vid to see them. And because of these random stuff, I needed to replay the episode like 4 times just to see every possible outcome in every situation which was a PAIN lol. Anyways if yall want I can continue the playthrough.

Yup it was, the game had a lot of great scares but the reason why the game itself wasnt scary in general is because of the forced jumpscares, there were no random elements in the game, every scare had its timed appear, for example if you approach the barrel at the first stage near the next room then Toshio's head will fall on it to scare you. But after the first playthrough you will know exactly what to expect when you approach that same barrel. And lets not even mention the scares where your character looks into a direction by itself to get jumpscared. Like, if the game itself forces you to look at a certain thing, then you will instantly know what to expect in the next second. And the lack of random elements + the forced scares were the reason why it got a terrible score at every website, besides the obvious walk speed and camera turning problem.

Check out Malone's channel in this comment section, he left a comment about the situation. He's working on it and now its playable, well kinda.

Sadly its not really a multiplayer based game. It does have a co-op Mode where your friend can scare you with his own controller by pressing the A button but thats it. If you're looking to play it just in general either download dolphin or buy a modded Wii and download it there(its better to play it on Wii for the experience, never played it on Wii tho, but Im gonna buy a modded version to try it out there so yeah, idk why Im tellin you this tho lol)

Eh it was annoying, I allowed him to break the floor and continued from there. Im not saying that its not possible but that part alone takes like 3-4 minutes which is time wasting for me.

Well the game itself has a lot of flaws, and it had been crushed by critics as well. But the Ju-On franchise only has this one game. So if someone is a fan of the movies, like myself, then this game worths a shot, even if its mediocre

Well I only tried to show the ones that needs a bit attention to notice, thats why I didn't show any scripted jumpscares and stuff that no matter what you do, you just cant miss . And that rooftop one is one of the few scares that you just cant miss no matter what you do. Still, thanks for the notice. Btw I played with it yesterday and there was something that I missed at the Factory, in the final room(where the elevator and stairs are), theres a little desk with 3 drawers, that can find in the middle of the area, if you open the bottom drawer, you will see a little box in it, if you wait and open it again, the box will be covered in blood and a little Sound effect Will play during it.
